My ideal female clients are independent, driven, and highly capable individuals, who feel disconnected from their true selves. They are successful in their careers and relationships, but feel something is missing. They often experience dissatisfaction, burnout, or unfulfilled potential because they are stuck in patterns that don’t align with their true desires or values. These women may feel like they are wearing a mask—pretending to be someone they’re not in different situations, whether it’s at work or in their personal lives. They’re often navigating relationship challenges, struggling with unhealthy dynamics, or feeling unfulfilled in their careers. They seek clarity, support, and guidance to uncover who they truly are, reconnect with their authentic selves, and build deeper, more meaningful relationships. Their primary goal is to break free from the patterns that keep them feeling stuck, develop a sense of fulfillment, and experience genuine connection both with themselves and others. They want to stop hiding behind a facade and start living life on their own terms—feeling empowered, authentic, and aligned with their values. Ultimately, these women want to create a life that feels true to them—a life that is full of joy, confidence, and deeper connection with others. Through therapy, they want to explore their true desires, heal from past patterns, and step into a life that’s fully aligned with who they are.

Stressful events disrupt our balance, which can create dysregulation in our emotional and bodily systems. My expertise lies in helping college students to develop ways to cope with life's stress, regulate the nervous system, and find healing. Let me help you find stability and peace with my practices. I specialize in working with college students who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, self-harm, anger and aggression, low self-esteem and trauma experiences. I combine my expertise in Human Development, Synergetic Play Therapy, Somatic Therapy and person centered techniques to help the young adult shift their nervous system and find regulation through connection, mindfulness, attunement and playful thinking.
"Resilience is based on being able to accept ambiguity and find hope amid uncertain conditions." This notion, shared by Dr. Pauline Boss, is one that is central to my clinical practice. We all have points in our lives when stress, change, or loss, may leave us feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or unsure of what lies ahead. The opportunity to warmly welcome clients into my office to re-gain their center, tap into internal resources, and nurture the development of new strategies is one I welcome each time I meet someone new. Rocky, my therapy dog, provides an added level of comfort for clients.
At Psych for Tykes and Teens, we believe every child and young adult deserves to feel happy and be successful. Today's world is a tough one, with the increased challenges and demands that we have never before faced. Dr. Gellman's mission is to help patients conquer the challenges that life will throw at them now and in the future and, overall, to help people thrive in all aspects of life.
Many students have mental health concerns from time to time. We feel stuck or face certain challenges. Sometimes we know what’s wrong and other times, we have the nagging sensation that something feels “off.” It can be stress, anxiety, depression, or academic pressures. When we understand the causes of your troubles, we can alleviate your symptoms. And, when we do, you’ll feel renewed and be a better student, friend, romantic partner, son or daughter. When your desire for your own welfare overrules your limiting beliefs and negative self-talk, what you aspire to starts flowing into your lives—be it a relationship, academic success. Your manifestations become effortless, without internal strife and resistance.
I am a licensed psychologist based in Lafayette, Colorado, working primarily with adults. My clinical approach blends psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral theories, allowing me to tailor therapy to your specific needs. I believe that understanding our patterns is crucial to building a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and sustainable. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I am committed to the dignity of all individuals and strive to create a welcoming, safe, and confidential space. My style is relaxed, curious, and focused. I prioritize understanding more than just symptoms or diagnoses; I want to understand you. I encourage clients to be honest, take reasonable risks, and learn to trust themselves so they can move forward with courage and conviction. I bring over a decade of diverse experience to my practice. After earning my Doctor of Psychology degree from Rutgers University, I joined the faculty at Albany Medical College’s Department of Psychiatry. There, I supervised residents, lectured, and developed a model of psychotherapy integrating client-chosen music. I am currently licensed in Colorado, New York, and all PsyPact* states. Outside the office, I live in Erie with my wife, daughter, and our rescue pup, Maisie. You’ll usually find me riding my motorcycle, playing the cello, or trying everything in my power to make my 9-month-old giggle. A classically trained cellist in a "former life," I believe resolutely that music is medicine. I welcome inquiries and am happy to schedule a free consultation.

Zyan is a neurodiverse and nonbinary/transmasculine Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate who is passionate about working with people ages 18+ who are struggling with substances. They also enjoy working with neurodiversity and/or queer identified people (or people exploring those identities). Zyan supports people in creatively problem solving, learning coping skills, building empowering authenticity, radically accepting being flawed humans, and recognizing how systems impact mental health. Zyan takes an eclectic person-centered approach, which means that who you are, and the context you are existing in, take center stage. Zyan also brings in elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build skills to address what struggles you may be facing. It can be hard to reach out for support for many different reasons, and even looking at clinicians online is a noteworthy step. Please feel free to reach out to them to see if it would be a good next step.
I work best with individuals who are interested in exploring their inner world. Those who benefit most from this work are often seeking to better understand their struggles and find renewed energy and meaning through the process. I work with you to explore and address the issues behind your emotional distress. Together, we will bring awareness to the ways you manage fear, pain, and anger. This exploration will contact the experiences you often avoid, including doubt and vulnerability. When you can experience yourself more fully, you reclaim lost parts of your self. Ultimately, this is a path to building trust in yourself and others. It is deeply rewarding—turning suffering into self-understanding and engagement with life.
