My practice is dedicated to working with people who are seeking emotional emancipation. They desire to claim or reclaim their lives after traumatic experiences or relational struggles that have left them feeling down, anxious, lonely, confused or scared and often don't really know how to begin to be different in the midst of all of these feelings. Working with me means exploring together the experiences that make you who you are by looking both at what your life is like today and how your past is informing that life. From this vantage, you can learn to make choices for yourself, freeing the yourself to engage in a life of your own making. I offer a free consultation and my fee is $300.

I am LGBTQ+ affirming and often work with folx with one or more marginalized identities.

The Raimy Psychology Clinic at the University of Colorado was founded in 1960 and has been providing affordable psychological treatment for over 40 years to adults in the Boulder County area, including University of Colorado students, faculty and staff. The Department of Psychology at the University of Colorado maintains the Raimy Clinic as a training site for graduate students in the Clinical Psychology PhD program. Graduate student therapists provide therapeutic services and are supervised by licensed psychologists and other experienced mental health professionals. The primary goal of the Clinic is to provide an introduction to clinical training for clinical psychology graduate students. The secondary goal of the Clinic is the provision of quality psychological services to the community at large. An additional goal of the Clinic is the integration of research and clinical training. Because of the training function of the Clinic, we offer psychological services at substantially reduced fees, assessed on the basis of a sliding scale, with low flat rates for full-time CU Boulder students, faculty, or staff. We are a fee for service clinic and do not accept insurance. Credit card payments are made through a secure online system. Contact the intake coordinator for more information about our services and rates. We are committed to providing services to those who are currently underserved, including economically-disadvantaged, ethnic and sexual minorities, as well as families. Services are currently provided exclusively through videoconferencing, using a confidentiality-secured, HIPAA compatible Zoom.

Hello and welcome! I am a licensed marriage & family therapist. I worked with clients in the La Jolla/San Diego area for many years before moving across the country to Florida. I currently serve California, Colorado, and Florida-based clients via secure video counseling. I work with individuals, couples, and families to help each person resolve problems, to create more satisfying relationships, and to live more fulfilling and meaningful lives. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, couples conflict, substance abuse, eating disorders, chronic illness, and pre-marital issues, but I also have experience helping people through a wide range of other problems that may be bothering them (please see "Services Provided" for more detailed information). My approach is mostly collaborative - I believe that my clients should have options when choosing what type of therapy treatment they feel is best for them. I also, when appropriate, will work closely with a client's healthcare providers as part of the treatment. This way, my clients have additional support as we work through challenges. I absolutely love working as a therapist! Nothing gives me more satisfaction than saving a marriage, increasing the bonds of love between family members, or helping someone overcome an addictive pattern and find new meaning in their life. Please contact me to set up your first appointment.

A Stoa Therapy provider. For most families, finding a qualified speech-language pathologist means long waitlists, limited local options, and clinics that don't take their insurance. For adults navigating a voice disorder or recovering from a stroke, the barriers are just as real. We built Stoa Therapy to solve that. By delivering care over telehealth and working directly with insurance, we connect patients across Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, and Louisiana with SLPs who have specialized training in exactly what they need. The result is care that's easier to start, easier to sustain, and genuinely effective. Get matched, visit: https://stoa-therapy.com/

As an insight-oriented therapist I operate from the belief that the more we understand about where we have been, the more control we have in where we are going. I take a client-centered approach to therapy, encouraging my clients to bring in what feels most important to them each week. When working with clients, my first priority is establishing a secure, authentic relationship that meets the needs of each individual. We work together to identify patterns of how you relate to yourself and others. We explore where they came from and the purpose they serve in your life. This allows you to identify what you want to change, and together we work to create a life that aligns with who you are.

It's dangerous to go alone! If you're struggling to cope with stressors or experiencing mental health concerns, you deserve help. Together, we can understand your life experiences so far and envision a better world moving forward. I believe the stories we love can help us heal from our real-life experiences. Stories of heroism, triumph over the odds, and simple survival remind us of our shared humanity and our resilience. Whether it’s a video game, a book, a movie, or a TV show, we can use those references in our talk therapy to understand and change your hero’s journey for the better. I utilize psychodynamic and person-centered counseling to assist you in growth. In addition to mental health counseling for a variety of concerns, I am also passionate about gender-affirming care and have assisted clients in transition by providing necessary documentation and exploring gender expression.

Fundamentally, my aim is to support my clients in contacting their inner self-knowing, and "make friends" with all of the various parts of themselves in the warmth and security of this inner space. To achieve this, I practice person-centered therapy, with a strong emphasis on somatic awareness. When working with clients, I am listening for "what wants to be heard" that day. In my view, I am a supportive and curious observer, and my job is to reflect back to my client what I am seeing. My style tends to be more direct, and I regularly encourage my clients to take ownership over their treatment and to trust themselves. In a first session with me, we explore where you've been, where you are, and where you would like to go. Often, I invite people to tell me their story and then describe their current situation. We will work together to assess what feels like the most supportive areas of focus, and will create some goals which guide our future sessions. During this process, however, you can still expect curiousity, empowerment, and validation. What's most important in any session is establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

Whether due to stormy family dynamics, unstable relationships, first-gen, LGBTQ, 'adulting', or having to navigate the never-ending COVID pandemic - life can become unmanageable! In the past five years with the University of Florida, I've had the tremendous joy of helping people (help themselves) through these storms - recent/old trauma, loving-and-conflictual relationships, coming to more peace and power with one's identity, more clarity and success at academics and career aspirations. You can count on me to be authentic and open, to come from a place of tenderness, warmth, and humor. Based in genuine, caring listening I try to offer everything possible to help you achieve lasting change. I'm a licensed psychologist (Hawaii - where I lived for years, Florida and Colorado), and am familiar with key areas of the scientific, empirical work and helps articulate trauma, anxiety and depression - and this points powerfully to what we can do to heal. My scholarly research and clinical experiences led to the completion of a book, “The Bruised Heart”. This book provides both in-depth information on the science of emotional healing and multiple clinical examples of real people (clients) whom I was so fortunate to know. I'm especially a good fit for anyone that may be (or called) “hypersensitive”, anyone who longs for authentic friendship, anyone who feels destabilized, perhaps following a break-up or stemming from chaotic family patterns. I love working with gifted and high IQ individuals, for example, with medical students, post docs, artists, and musicians who are highly intelligent but “underperforming” and simply suffering. And I have a passion for first-gen students, and has worked with many from, for example, Colombia, Brazil and Iran. Additionally, I think I am a strong fit for anyone who passionate about psychospiritual approaches to healing, growth and transformation. There are very realistic, nonabstract, doable ways to integrate forms of meditation into one’s busy life and this can be a gamechanger. Finally, I supervise third-year psychiatry residents and routinely assist clients in exploring medication options.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with seven years of experience, dedicated to helping you reclaim your life when you're feeling stuck and unhappy. At all times, I believe in openness and showing up authentically with you in the room, and look forward to learning more about you as we work together. Holistic, tailored, and integrative is how I show up for you in our work, as I'm passionate about helping you reclaim your joy and zest for life. Together, we'll create a non-judgmental, authentic space where you feel free to be yourself. I use Mindfulness within this approach to help you rediscover who you are and what you want in life, with a direct and compassionate style tailored to your unique needs. My path to becoming a therapist began with a psychology course that piqued my interest in understanding people on a deeper level. That experience deepened my commitment to providing you with an authentic space to feel comfortable and heard. I love to travel, paint, and spend time exploring nature. Some of my favorite moments are spent with family and friends.
