Hi, I'm glad you are reaching out for help and to begin the process of self-discovery. Due to COVID, I'm currently providing only telehealth sessions. We can all encounter barriers — often these are out of our awareness — that prevent us from thriving in our careers and in relationships. I believe the therapeutic relationship offers a unique opportunity in the here-and-now to increase our self-awareness and understand the influence of the past on our present behavior. I work collaboratively, empathically and creatively to help you get “unstuck” and to foster meaningful, lasting change in your inner world and in your relationships with others. Over the years, I have worked with people who are experiencing challenges related to college, work, intimate relationships, identity (cultural, racial, sexual, gender, class – and intersections of these), trauma, grief, adjustments or transitions, anxiety and depression. I have worked for many years with graduate and undergraduate students.

I have been a practicing psychotherapist for over 30 years and work with individuals, couples and groups. This work focuses on helping people develop more fulfilling lives with better relationships, good self-care and an enriched sense of well-being. The second way I help people is as a neuropsychologist, evaluating and treating individuals with neurocognitive disorders. Everyone in my practice is treated with the utmost respect and nonjudgmental regard for their individual traits. I strive to meet all clients with integrity experience, skill, trust, empathy and authenticity.

I specialize in performance anxiety and high achievement challenges among musicians, graduate students, and creative professionals. Clients may look like they’re doing “fine” on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck internally. Many of my clients struggle with perfectionism, self-doubt, or fear of not measuring up even after success. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices such as ACT, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral strategies. I aim to create a space where you can think clearly, feel understood, and build tools that actually work in real life — whether that’s managing anxiety, rebuilding confidence, or navigating a major life transition. Therapy with me is practical, thoughtful, and growth-oriented. You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit. Sometimes you just need space to reset, reflect, and move forward with clarity. Before I was a therapist I was a music professor, and I watched talented, driven students strive for excellence while quietly struggling with anxiety and self-doubt. Many were trying to meet not only external expectations, but the very high standards they set for themselves. Over time, I began to see a real need for therapists who truly understand the intense pressure of performance-driven environments. That realization led me to pursue clinical training. I understand what it feels like to care deeply about your work, your performance, and your future. I spent years in higher education and the performing arts, so I know firsthand the pressure that can come with auditions, exams, presentations, and high expectations. My path into therapy grew out of a desire to support people navigating those same pressures with greater clarity, steadiness, and confidence.

Licensed Professional Counselor
Alpharetta, GA

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who brings a warm approach to direct, empowering, and holistic therapy to BIPOC and LGBTQ+ folks. My therapy style is collaborative, humorous, and affirming as I believe you are the expert in your own life but I can be a supportive tool to help you in being who you want to be! Healing isn't one-size-fits-all, and therapy shouldn't be either. My work is based in trauma-informed care that honors where you've been, what you have experienced, and meets you exactly where you are. I believe your body holds wisdom that talk therapy alone can't always reach, which is why we integrate somatic approaches that help you reconnect with yourself on a deeper level.

Let's TALK IT OUT, not TOUGH IT OUT. Toughing it out can lead you to suffer in silence, become more isolated, and possibly seek out negative or harmful ways to dull the pain. I encourage you to take the risk of being vulnerable in order to relive that pain as well as grow stronger and braver. Contact me today so we can start the journey of Talking it Out, in order for you to get on the path of living Happier, Healthier and Longer. My approach is to develop a meaningful and trusting relationship. It is through this relationship that pain is relieved and growth happens, and these "Emotional Corrective Experiences" will begin to have a positive impact on your life.

Working with a psychologist should be a positive and beneficial experience. Not only do I believe in supporting my clients through successes and challenges, I love my work and am very dedicated to those I work with. In my practice, I specialize in providing comprehensive psychological assessments and therapy with individuals. I conduct comprehensive evaluations, aimed at evaluating possible learning disorders, attention regulation concerns (ADHD), dyslexia, processing deficits, and behavioral/emotional issues. My assessments are very thorough, as my ultimate goal is to paint a clear picture of strengths and weaknesses, allowing me to provide highly personalized recommendations. My treatment approach is cognitive-behavioral (CBT), coupled with collaboration, warmth, and respect. Presenting concerns include anxiety, executive functioning weaknesses, depression, adjustment, behavior management, and addressing academic concerns. My hope for therapy is to produce lasting change, including coping with stressors, addressing challenges, and resolving presenting concerns.

At RivaWell, I work best with people who are ready for change. You may be high functioning but internally overwhelmed. You may struggle with anxiety, burnout, overthinking, or feeling disconnected from yourself. You might be navigating a life transition, building something new, or realizing that what once worked no longer fits. The clients who thrive here are self aware, open to reflection, and willing to take responsibility for their growth. They are not looking for a quick fix. They want clarity, strategy, and realignment. At RivaWell, we focus on getting to the root, strengthening your nervous system, and helping you make aligned decisions that support the life you are building. If you are ready to do the work and want structured, thoughtful support, I invite you to book a consultation. Let’s determine if we are a good fit.

Not unlike many within this field, my own experiences with mental health influenced my decision to become a therapist. Through my own struggles in my young life, I found a passion for hearing other people’s experiences and empowering others to identify and utilize their strengths in moments of hardship. A couple of areas I specialize in navigating are: Ideas of perfectionism Developing self-compassion Exploring one’s cultural identity Coping with and understanding feeling “not good enough" Overcoming the stress of living up to expectations (cultural, intrapersonal, societal, parental) Setting boundaries Feeling torn between two or more cultures Feelings of shame, worry, or guilt I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist and I have a particular skill in working with people of color, first and second-generation immigrants, and folks new to therapy. Additionally, I deeply understand, honor, and respect the South Asian and Middle Eastern religions and cultures.
