My pronouns are she/her/hers. I offer both individual therapy and psychological assessment. Assessment can be used to evaluate for concerns like ADHD or autism, screen for learning challenges, track changes in neurological functioning, and more. For assessment, I see clients 5 years and older. For individual therapy, I see clients age 14 and older. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and coping with life changes. I also used to work at universities and know the unique experiences and challenges college students face. For any therapist you work with, one of the most important pieces is connection. I may not be the right therapist for everyone and that is perfectly ok. Find who you mesh with and who works for you, and you will give yourself the best chance of success! I believe that therapy is only part of your journey. When we meet, I want to know not only what is upsetting you but also what your goals and hopes are for the future. My goal is to stand with you as you gain the power to reclaim the parts of your life you want to improve. If you feel a connection with me, therapy can be a place to learn more about yourself, challenge worries, process past and current strife, and more. I can be a witness, guide, support, and collaborator. We will work together to get you through this.
In my practice, I see college students and young adults for a variety of issues including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, stress, transitions/major life decisions, and career concerns. I provide individual counseling using solution-focused and cognitive therapies. I also employ a whole-person process approach to career counseling so that all factors are considered when making vocational decisions. I strive to provide my clients with a safe, nonjudgmental environment to understand themselves better and move toward a fulfilling life. I often learn as much from my clients as they do from me and I consider therapy a highly collaborative process.

Living with OCD or anxiety can be exhausting. The constant doubt, intrusive thoughts, avoidance and compulsions can make everyday life feel overwhelming— like it's running your life instead of you. I specialize in helping adults break free from OCD, perfectionism, and anxiety disorders. I understand how isolating these struggles can feel, and I provide a compassionate, collaborative space where you can feel understood while learning practical tools to understand anxiety and move toward what truly matters to you. If you're struggling with OCD, we’ll use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. Together we'll build a concrete treatment plan, and with steady support, you’ll gradually face fears, and reduce compulsions, building confidence and learning that you can handle uncertainty without relying on rituals. To address anxiety and perfectionism, I integrate CBT and ACT techniques, so you can develop a healthier mindset and respond to difficult thoughts with more flexibility and self-compassion. Therapy is active and goal-oriented, but always grounded in warmth and respect. I’d love to support you in this process.
College can be a fun and exciting chapter of life, but when something goes wrong, it can quickly feel out of control and overwhelming. Many students I work with are high achievers who appear to have it all together, yet privately struggle with anxiety, ADHD, self-doubt, loneliness, or the pressure to constantly perform and succeed, especially leading up to graduation as they prepare for the next chapter. When we live with constant pressures and a lack of self-compassion, we may begin feeling exhausted, disconnected, and unsure of ourselves. As a health psychologist, I enjoy helping college students navigate the academic, social, and personal challenges of this stage of life. Together, we’ll identify what’s getting in the way, build practical skills to manage stress and stay focused, and strengthen your confidence and self-compassion. My goal is always to ensure you feel heard and understood, and to help you create a life that feels balanced, meaningful, and true to who you are. Together, we gain clarity on personal values, goals, and we build strategies to break through barriers and move towards what you truly want in life.

Life can often feel messy and chaotic. My passion is to help bring order out of chaos to facilitate growth and peace. Many of my clients present with concerns related to anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stressful life transitions and circumstances, or they report feeling a little “off” and are seeking help to feel more like themselves again. My name is Amanda Schneider and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Georgia. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences and then obtained my Master’s degree in Social Work from Valdosta State University. I am currently under supervision, supervised by Adina Tucker LCSW, while I work to obtain my LCSW. Life transitions can be challenging whether you’re adjusting to a new phase, managing anxiety, moving through grief, facing relationship challenges, or simply feeling stuck. I work with adults and teenagers (13+) who are navigating these complexities, offering a grounded space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. Therapy is unique to each person and together, we will explore what works best for you. In a safe space, we will explore your strengths, goals, and experiences in order to find healing and growth. My approach is collaborative, down-to-earth, and centered on helping you reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll focus on building self-esteem, practicing self-compassion, and recognizing your own strengths especially in moments when those things feel hard to access. With a background in hospice care, I have experience working with individuals and families navigating chronic illness, death, and the grief that comes with those experiences. I’ve also worked with older adults navigating anxiety, depression, isolation, and aging related issues. These experiences shaped the way I show up as a therapist and I strive to offer a space where you feel safe to be yourself and talk through your true thoughts and feelings. Starting therapy isn’t always easy, and it’s okay to feel unsure about where to begin. I’m here to walk alongside you as you move toward healing, reconnect with a sense of purpose, and build skills that support you long after our work together.

Many of the students I work with are navigating intense pressure academically, socially, and internally. You might be experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or difficulty managing stress. You may also be carrying unresolved trauma or struggling with identity, grief, or emotional regulation. Therapy offers a structured, supportive space to explore what’s contributing to these patterns and begin building healthier ways of coping. My approach integrates evidence-based treatments like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. We’ll focus on helping you better understand your thoughts and emotions, strengthen your coping skills, and create lasting change that supports your well-being. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. Therapy can be the starting point for greater clarity, connection, and self-trust.
I am a social worker psychotherapist with extensive experience in mental health. I have been working with individuals and families for 40 years and enjoy working with college students. My focus is on developing healthy habits and self enlightenment. I am not afraid of discussing painful or difficult issues and can handle hard emotions. I use cognitive behavioral therapy and EMDR for trauma if necessary. I encourage time in the natural world, teach mindfulness and use humor as much as possible.
I was a high school teacher and coach for 14 years before becoming a counselor so I work well with students and young people. Many feel pressure to make their time at college "the best time of their lives" but the reality is many find this time of transition difficult and frustrating. Asking for help during difficult moments shows strength and maturity. You don't need to handle these things on your own. We can partner together to find solutions to situations and circumstances that feel overwhelming or confusing. Give me a call and we'll get started.
