I specialize in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and behavioral problems in adolescents and adults (ages 12 and up). In my work, therapy often focuses on dealing with stress related to academic demands, difficulties in peer and romantic relationships, family conflict, low self-esteem, as well as struggles with self-identity. I also work with young adults who feel overwhelmed during the transition to college or entering the work force for the first time. I draw on elements from empirically supported treatments such as CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I strive to offer an emphatic, non-judgmental approach to treatment. As a Latina, it is particularly important to me to serve my community and I welcome Spanish speaking clients.

Change can feel intimidating and overwhelming, but it can also be a chance to grow, learn, and build resilience. As college students, you’re in a unique time of transition—navigating new responsibilities, relationships, routines, and decisions about your future. It’s natural to feel a mix of excitement and uncertainty as you let go of familiar comforts and take on new challenges. Giving yourself the space to process these changes, reflect on your experiences, and prepare for what’s next is an important part of your journey. One of the most empowering steps you can take is to explore and understand your own story. I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental perspective to help you uncover your strengths, tackle challenges, and celebrate your growth. Together, we can work toward helping you feel confident as you take healthy risks, build meaningful connections, and embrace the opportunities ahead in college and beyond. I have experience working with individuals dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, and the impacts of past traumas, as well as navigating major life transitions. I’m especially interested in helping you identify what brings purpose and joy to your life, so you can create a future that feels authentic and fulfilling. Above all, I want to get to know you—your experiences, your goals, and how I can support you along the way. Wherever you’re at right now, you don’t have to face it alone. Let’s work together to help you feel more grounded, self-assured, and ready to take on whatever comes next.
We are a group practice with experienced clinicians who are passionate about supporting college students through the challenges of academic, personal, and emotional life. Our team offers compassionate, culturally responsive care tailored to each individual's unique needs. We provide both in-person and virtual therapy sessions, with services available in English and Arabic to ensure accessible and inclusive care.
Therapeutically, we approach each client differently, and pick our tools according to your needs and preferences. We are looking to help you find acceptance, success, meaning, and/or anything else on your terms, as you define it. We share a commitment to practicing in anti-oppressive, harm reductive, and relational ways, but each clinician has their own eclectic approach. Our clinicians have deep experience working with LGBTQ+ and especially trans/non-binary/gender expansive clients — from childhood through adulthood. As an organization founded by queer folks, we’re here to provide a space where you can feel safe and brave all at once. Our clinicians also focus on chronic illness or disability, and neurodivergence.
My clients are people who often feel stuck in their thoughts, whether those thoughts are anxious, self-critical, perfectionistic, or filled with doubt. They might be struggling with OCD, social anxiety, phobias, trauma, or just the overwhelming pressure to always get things “right.” My clients come from a variety of background and identities. They want relief, but not just a quick fix. They’re looking to better understand themselves, break free from rigid patterns, and move toward a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and aligned.
We know that no two people are the same and, as such, we tailor therapy to meet the specific needs of each client. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, or other issue, we help our clients to recognize underlying problems, fully realize their strengths, and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things in a different, healthier way. Our practice specializes in treating adolescents, college students, and adults of all ages. We pride ourselves in providing evidence-based treatment approaches and borrow heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. We know that all clients have personal strengths. We consider it our job to help our clients get back in touch with them.

College can be exciting — and overwhelming. If you’re feeling stressed, anxious, or just not like yourself, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space to talk through challenges like anxiety, life transitions, and relationship struggles. Virtual sessions make it easy to fit therapy into your busy schedule.
Ombu Counseling specializes in helping those facing new challenges in life, those in the process of negotiating their place in an adoptive environment, and those seeking to assert themselves in relationships, groups and/or families in which conflicting values, beliefs and expectations prevail. Major life transitions are challenging, especially when they provoke questions about one’s identity, culture, core-values and sense of belonging. Trying to figure this out can result in feelings of confusion and emotional exhaustion. Counseling offers a process for reflecting on such questions and space for containing the emotions they produce.
I have always enjoyed working with children and adolescents, but expanding to teens, young adults, and middle-aged adults has been incredible! I assist with addressing a variety of problem areas including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, anger management, academic difficulties, impulsivity/hyperactivity, symptoms related to trauma history or exposure, relationship concerns, family conflicts, life transitions, and daily stressors. In collaboration with the client and their families, I gather information and assist with developing targeted treatment plans to help clients work toward their goals and improve their overall well-being. Creating a safe and comfortable environment for my clients is what I strive for so clients can feel they can be free with their thoughts and feelings without the fear of being judged. I utilize interventions from models such as Client-Centered Therapy, CBT, DBT, Play Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy as counseling progresses and needs are identified. While there are many important factors involved in the counseling process, I believe that one of the most critical aspects of therapy is a strong therapeutic relationship. I utilize my ability to empathize and connect with clients of all ages and backgrounds to develop those strong therapeutic relationships with my clients.
