I see therapy as guidance for healing, self-development, and an opportunity to feel understood. Through a collaborative, therapeutic approach, I utilize empathy, patience, and a sense of humor, to help clients through unexpected challenges and transitional life phases. To individual counseling, I bring a combination of my clinical background and empathy through the use of a strengths based and person centered approach. By drawing on my experience, knowledge, and skills, I help you restore your life. I strive to provide individualized, compassionate psychotherapy in a safe, welcoming environment. I have experience working in hospice and oncology social work. My areas of expertise are grief and loss, chronic, serious, and terminal illnesses, chronic pain, cancer and cancer survivorship, and caregiver fatigue. I serve adults (18+) and people over 65 and welcome those of varied ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
College students today face so many pressures: family and peer expectations, major life decisions, an onslaught of social media messages, and multiple socio-political crises. Though these problems are daunting, you do not need to face them alone. I would be grateful to accompany you as you respond to the questions and challenges impacting your life. In my work thus far, my clients have often felt a sense of separation or space open up between themselves and their problems. I have helped people feel “known” for who they want to be in life, separate and apart from the influence of depression, anxiety, failure, addiction, conflict, hardship, etc. This gives them more room to explore the forgotten or not-yet-developed stories of their hopes, passions, values, and purposes, which can contribute to a feeling of empowerment in facing whatever difficult experiences brought them to therapy. Though I help people navigate many different kinds of mental and emotional challenges, I have a particular interest in having therapy conversations with folks 1) concerned about the environment, 2) interested in or wondering about their spirituality/ religion, and 3) who identify as men or who are dealing with the effects of patriarchy.

College can be one of the most exciting chapters of your life, but also one of the most overwhelming. Between academic pressure, relationship changes, identity exploration, family dynamics, and the constant push to “have it all together,” it’s easy to feel stretched thin or even lost. I’m Theresa, a licensed therapist who specializes in helping college students just like you find clarity, balance, and real coping tools in the midst of it all. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, or just need a safe space to unpack life, this space was created with you in mind. Therapy isn’t about having a diagnosis, it’s about having a space. A space where you can be honest without judgment, process what’s heavy, and learn how to thrive, not just survive. If you’re ready to feel more like you, let’s talk. You don’t have to figure this all out on your own.

I take a holistic approach, focusing on the whole person rather than just a diagnosis. My style is flexible, practical, and compassionate. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns. I’m empathetic by nature and do my best to truly understand each individual’s experiences, goals, and challenges so care feels personal and respectful. I work with individuals facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood and panic disorders, stress, schizophrenia, and impulse control concerns. Whether you are at a crossroads in your life, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or sensing your life is not what it could be, help is available. As helpers, we are committed to meeting you exactly where you are by using our collection of professional tools to assist you to reach your highest potential through connection to your “true” self, the part of you who is waiting to be rediscovered and made manifest. Our orientation as therapists combines our understanding of human development, psychology, and behavioral change with wisdom and practice that is woven through most spiritual traditions. You need not consider yourself a spiritual person, nor do we insist on a particular belief system. This is only to say that our orientation integrates this awareness as an element of healing. Our ultimate goal is to empower you to free yourself from the patterns that keep you from fully thriving and to help you create the life you want to be living. It is an act of courage, not weakness, to allow others to help you.
