Are you anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted by the state of the world? Let's make it feel easier together. With over 10+ years experience, I specialize in supporting adults with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Panic, and Sex-related concerns through collaborative, compassionate, and results-driven therapy and coaching. I focus on restoring a sense of safety, clarity, and agency in an increasingly overwhelming world using evidence-based practices and customizing sessions to tailor to your specific needs. Let's work together to curate the change you want for yourself and your future, one simple step at a time. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, chronically stressed, or stuck in cycles of overthinking, masking, or emotional exhaustion. I work collaboratively with my clients to set goals, process emotions, and untangle the grief of living through the world as it currently is. As a Pakistani-American daughter of immigrants, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand how cultural expectations, intergenerational dynamics, and systemic stress can affect us. If you are ready to stop simply surviving and start feeling steady and hopeful, let's start building a better reality for you, together.
Are you overwhelmed with life stressors due to family conflicts, prioritizing school, or systemic issues? Do you sometimes feel so anxious, depressed, misunderstood, or numb that you feel disconnected from everything or everyone? Are you constantly prioritizing everyone except yourself? Are you simply tired of feeling stuck or overthinking? Well I get it! Tribulations can arise despite our age, race, religion, sex, or background. Despite our intersectionality, we all deserve and need a safe space to explore our thoughts, feelings, experiences, and behaviors; understanding the impact allows us to recognize patterns and create better experiences.

I love to listen to and empower my clients to achieve their personal goals and develop greater wellness. I believe that trust, authenticity, and openness create a strong therapeutic relationship and make therapy effective. Together we can find solutions and develop skills to navigate life’s twists and turns. I specialize in working with individuals who have struggled with multiple mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, and trauma. My therapy approaches include Person-Centered, Strengths-Based Perspective, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). However, there is no one-size fits all approach to therapy; the services I provide are always tailored to fit my client’s goals. As you embark on this therapeutic journey it is my goal to make you feel empowered, heard, understood, and to provide a safe and positive environment. We will learn and grow together as we discuss your difficulties and highlight your strengths. I believe developing a strong and positive therapeutic relationship is a huge part of making your therapeutic journey successful. I’m focused on meeting you where you are at and help you realize the strength within yourself because I firmly believe that you are the expert of your own life.
I believe that every person already has what they need to heal, but sometimes our “okay-ness” gets stuck under layers of self-protection and hurt. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process that involves peeling back the layers that help protect you, to remove what no longer serves you, so you can get to your true authentic self.
Starting therapy is a huge step towards bettering yourself, and taking that leap of faith to begin this journey is the beginning stage of healing. I would be extremely privileged and feel so honored to walk alongside you during this journey. I will do my best to provide you with the skills and strategies that you are looking for in order to better your well-being. I take into account everyone’s individual backgrounds in order to develop the most effective treatment for you, and to allow you to feel safe and heard. I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, and received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University, and my Master’s degree in Counseling Education with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Michigan University. In the past I have worked with clients ages 7 and up, who are struggling with life transitions, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other challenges. I believe that therapy can be a transformative experience; something that allows people to live their authentic and best lives, and helps us to develop coping skills to handle life’s toughest challenges. I practice therapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic (CBT) approach. I strive to provide an empathetic environment for those who step into my office, and to provide a safe space where you can expect to feel heard and comfortable while working with me. I am always striving to learn more, so that I can best treat those who I work with!

I am the founder and director of the Mother Wound Project (@motherwoundproject). I received my MSW from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and have 9 years of experience helping individuals, parent-child pairs, families, and couples successfully navigate the mother wound, the father wound, family conflict, parenting after trauma, no contact/estrangement, and reconciliation. I also support those who are struggling with body image and eating disorder conditions that impact daily life. My approach as a therapist is both compassionate and person-centered. I believe every family is capable of healing and that healing the family is how we will ultimately heal the world.
You may trust that I will be authentic and genuine with you from the beginning as this is an important aspect of therapy. Making that call and keeping that first appointment can be such a hard thing to do, you deserve that honesty and integrity from the start. Over the last 23 years I have gained experience as a social worker. First as a case manager with my Bachelors in Social Work degree from Western Michigan University in 2000. Next as a therapist after earning my Masters of Social Work degree from Grand Valley State University in May 2005. Since that time, I have had the opportunity to further my skills in Michigan, North Carolina and Maine. I have had the privilege of gaining extensive experience working with individuals and groups (teens and adults, active duty service men and women and their families, veterans and civilians). Some client concerns include those struggling with: crisis response, depression, anxiety, trauma, life changes, stress management, grief, loss, gender identity, Gender Identity, LGBTQ+ concerns, sexuality, self-care concerns, and other life disruptions or stress.
I believe healing begins when we feel safe enough to tell the truth, about our pain, our fears, and the parts of ourselves we learned to hide for surviving purposes. Therapy with me is about creating space to understand yourself with more compassion, clarity, and choice. With over 15 years of experience in the business world, I understand the burnout of high-functioning, over-responsible individuals, the life transitions coming from career change or relocation and the identity exploration and rebuilding after disruption. I am especially drawn to supporting people who have learned to be strong early in life, and are now learning how to be gentler with themselves.
My approach to counseling is interactive in style and based on the concept that understanding emotions is essential to personal growth and happiness. I provide a supportive, empathetic, non-judgmental environment in which my clients feel comfortable in sharing and exploring their feelings. My goal is to help my clients to develop long term skills for coping and prospering. I specialize in working with life transitions and grief and loss. I work with individuals, couples and families.

Dr. Kennedy-Ball graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology in 2014. Though her academic focus was primarily on treatment for children and adolescents, her professional experiences have allotted her the opportunities to work with vast populations (children, adolescents, teens, adults, and geriatrics) suffering from various disorders (Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Neurocognitive Disorders, etc.). She has practiced in several settings including, outpatient, inpatient, community mental health, and residential treatment utilizing individual, family, and group therapy modalities. As a clinician, she focuses on collaborative and client centered treatment, as it allows for improvement in all facets of a client’s quality of life. Further, it fosters her ability to work holistically towards a client’s personal and family goals in unique and effective ways, as there is greater opportunity for therapeutic rapport and sense of personal control over challenges. She utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach, though has become more attune to hybrid interventions that best suit individual needs.
