Welcome to my profile! I am a therapist who specializes in providing support for clients with trauma and neurodiversity. I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to heal, grow, and thrive, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for my clients to do just that. I enjoy working with individuals who identify as neurodivergent. This includes individuals with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other neurodivergent conditions. I believe that neurodiversity is a natural and valuable aspect of human diversity, and I am committed to helping my clients leverage their unique strengths and abilities to achieve their goals. My approach to therapy is grounded in evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic experiencing. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them identify their goals for therapy and develop a personalized treatment plan that meets their unique needs. Whether you are struggling with the effects of trauma or navigating life as a neurodivergent individual, I am here to offer support, guidance, and compassion. My goal is to create a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship that allows you to explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and move forward with greater resilience and confidence. If you are interested in learning more about my approach to therapy or scheduling a consultation, please don't hesitate to reach out.

We can all benefit from gaining insights, learning skills, and having “tune ups” along the way. If you’re feeling stuck, struggling with how you feel about yourself or in relationship with someone, experiencing unwanted or intrusive thoughts or memories from a past experience, ruminating on negative thoughts or beliefs, or feeling anxious or depressive symptoms, you don’t have to walk through it alone! Our therapists use various counseling approaches that include evidence based treatments like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Because we are out of network, we can also get creative within our work with you. We’ll utilize appropriate techniques such as music or walk-and-talk therapy and can even take “field trips” with you if we deem it beneficial in your treatment (ie- restaurant outings, exposure therapy for certain phobias, home visits, etc.)

Your college years is a time to establishing yourself as an independent person with a life of your own, separate from your family of origin. During this time, you may be particularly focused on career goals, college and related activities, establishing more intimate and longer term relationships, finances, or setting up your own home and learning how to manage it. But, sometimes the things don't necessarily go as you had planned and this can certainly be upsetting and overwhelming. Or, perhaps there are experiences from your childhood that you’ve never really had the chance to work through? Anxiety, stress, depression, substance abuse, relationship problems, and other concerns are common during this phase of life. Now is the time to chart your own course. Therapy can help you reach your goals and be your happiest, healthiest, and most authentic self.

Welcome. I am Dr. Christiane Speed. I am a licensed psychologist in CA and NC. I have been practicing for over 12 years and possess extensive experience working with college and university students both in CA and NC. I enjoy helping students regain a sense of control and empowerment over their life struggles so that they can engage and enjoy life more fully and create a healthier academic and personal life balance. A major part of therapy involves helping students adapt to student life, balance school and personal life. Students come to see for help with how to communicate effectively in relationships, and to learn practical coping skills for stress and time management. We work on identifying and managing procrastination, increasing motivation and goal directed activities and setting very clear, realistic, achievable goals and having a growth mindset. Other areas of work might include managing and resolving interpersonal problems, setting healthy emotional, physical and personal boundaries, improving family, friendship and romantic relationships and overall functioning. My areas of specialty include anxiety (including generalized anxiety disorder, health anxiety, imposter syndrome, OCD, social anxiety, specific phobia), complex stress and life struggles, depression , grief and loss. I take a flexible and individualized approach to treatment and integrate effective techniques from different approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused Therapy. To gain a more holistic understanding, treatment also addresses how cultural, family, medical, physical, social, societal and spiritual factors interact with each client's unique life struggles. My main focus is getting to know each of my client's unique life experiences, difficulties and needs so that I can tailor therapy to best suit what will work best for that client. If you feel that we would be a good fit working together, please contact me to schedule an appointment. I look forward to the potential of working with you.

Hello, and welcome. My name is Kathleen McGah and I offer a comfortable, confidential space for teens, college-age students and young adults to talk about whatever is on their mind, at one's own pace, and without judgment. When people have a safe place to practice putting thoughts and feelings into words, they find they grow psychologically stronger over time - and more satisfied with various aspects of life. I have worked with many students who, initially, have been hesitant to talk with a professional. (Even if one has had a counseling experience in the past, it can still be difficult to start with a new therapist.) It makes sense if you have some hesitation about taking this step. Only you will know if you are ready. If you have been struggling and think it would be good to meet with a therapist, though, please reach out.
