Attending college can be both an exciting opportunity and a stressful experience in the life of a student. If you are experiencing stress or anxiety, depression or low self esteem, or find yourself relying too much on drugs or alcohol to get by, feel free to reach out and see if talking with a counselor could be helpful. I look forward to talking with you.

Welcome! I am a clinical psychologist who believes in building relationships with my clients while using evidence-based practices to help each client achieve the changes that he or she is seeking to make. I am passionate about the "whole" person, taking a comprehensive, collaborative approach with services. I approach treatment and assessment from a strengths-based perspective and integrate a variety of psychological orientations. I focus on resiliency and helping my clients to recognize their unique strengths in order to learn and grow from their experiences and difficulties.
As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), I work with clients ages 12 and up who are ready to grow, heal, and create meaningful change in their lives. I have a passion for working with teens and college students, women navigating divorce, men working through intimacy concerns, and individuals facing major transitions in their careers, families, and relationships. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-doubt, as well as those who simply feel “stuck” and want more clarity and confidence. My style is warm, authentic, and conversational. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and even able to laugh along the way. I use approaches such as CBT, IFS, and DBT skills, along with practical mindfulness tools and self-esteem work to help you feel more grounded and empowered. I offer in person and virtual. Life doesn’t come with a manual — and sometimes we all need support finding our footing again. I am deeply person-centered and value honesty, compassion, and collaboration. Together, we will work toward understanding your patterns, strengthening your confidence, and helping you build a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
Emily Dickinson wrote, “Hope is the thing with feathers,” comparing hope to a bird, noting that even something small, sometimes unseen, holds power that can bring you through hardships. Sparrows carry symbolism across many cultures, described to be a representation of resilience, joy, freedom, hope, and community. Here at House of Sparrow we want you to know that you are seen, you are valuable, and that you carry more strength than you know.

We are a diverse group of clinicians specializing in treatment of clients dealing with psychological and behavioral challenges. We offer individual, couple and family therapy. Our core values are quality of care, individualized approach, person centered & cultural competence.
From the beginning, Carolinas Counseling Group has been committed to combining clinical expertise & current psychological research with the timeless wisdom of a Christian worldview. All of our therapists are fully licensed in the state of North Carolina and are committed Christians. Although all of us are Christians, we welcome all faith or non-religious perspectives. We commit that we will do all we can to help you feel welcome and free from any pressure to believe like we do. It is our goal for you to feel safe from critical judgment. At the same time, we want to convey our commitment to care for you and your loved ones within the framework of deep respect derived from our faith.
Mental health affects our relationships, and our relationships affect mental health. The quality of our social connections is the greatest predictor of well-being, which is why helping clients build healthy relationships of all kinds and heal from past relationship trauma are my counseling passions! My additional areas of specialty include anxiety, burnout, mood disorders, and substance use disorders – whether it’s you or a loved one who is struggling. In our sessions, we'll foster deep self-understanding and self-compassion, deconstruct patterns that no longer serve you or align with your values, and work collaboratively to create meaningful, long-lasting change. I offer individual, couple, and adult family therapy sessions. While my approach is unique for every client, I always use a strengths-based, encouraging, empathetic, and nonjudgmental lens. Skills training in emotion regulation, coping, communication, emotional intelligence, conflict resolution, stress management, and mindfulness are integral to my work. Clients' holistic wellness is a top priority in my therapeutic process. Together, we'll analyze your overall well-being, including emotional, social, physical, and even professional, then create specific goals to get you on the path to balance and fulfillment. If it sounds like I'd be a helpful addition to your healing journey, reach out to schedule with me!
Have you found yourself struggling with feeling overwhelmed way more than you would like to admit? Has your anxiety washed over you with no rhyme or reason, only to leave you feeling exhausted and confused? Transitioning back to "normal life" and having adult responsibilities is hard enough, but when you add anxiety to the mix--things tend to get interesting (and probably not in the way you would like). My perspective in therapy is that everyone has their own “coping skills toolbox” and it is my job to help you polish the rusty tools that you haven’t used in a while and make room for new and improved tools that are just for you. I will be your accountability partner by supporting and challenging you when needed. While sometimes our lives can feel out of control, many times all we need is a little boost from an outside person to help us move through overwhelming situations. I believe the most important part of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client, so please reach out for a free 15 minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit!
