Hello! It is my pleasure to make your acquaintance! My name is Anna and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a native Oregonian, an Oregon State University graduate (go Beavs!), and received a master's degree in Social Work from Portland State University in 2019. I am a mom to one dog, four cats, and two human teenagers, and when it's not raining, you can find me out in the garden, eating chocolate, or listening to 90's music. I serve youth aged 10 through older adulthood and believe it is never too late to try something new. Conditions I treat most often include anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, anger, grief, and navigating becoming your most authentic self. I am an affirming, accepting, LGBTQIA+ ally and clinician.
What is an Authentic Life Path? The question should really be What is YOUR Authentic Life Path? Often in the hustle and bustle of the “real world” we kind of just go with the flow and often lose ourselves. Sometimes it is scary to live our lives authentically. Living authentically means the person you feel you truly are on the inside. I started my career in the IT field, but realized I did not have a passion for it or enjoy it. I wanted to help others. I became a licensed marriage and family therapist, and am now living my authentic life path and want to help you find and live yours. I specialize in working with children, tweens, teens and adults who identify as transgender or genderqueer. I also specialize in the LGBTQIAA+ community. I work with all religions and spiritualities and all types of families no matter what the unique makeup. I provide a safe, supportive environment for you to explore yourself and grow into your most authentic self and find the path that is right for you. Give me a call or email if you have any questions.
I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, autism-related aggression, and geriatric psychiatric disorders. I develop personalized treatment plans that combine therapy, medication management, and lifestyle modifications. With a holistic, patient-centered approach, I guide individuals toward recovery while collaborating closely with psychologists, psychiatrists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, effective care.
Clients who come to my practice are going through life transitions - adjustments to school and moving, relationship concerns, and making life decisions. In addition to traditional therapy practices, I also practice (and teach) ecotherapy - a method of treatment that includes nature in the process. For some people this means we hold our sessions outdoors. For others, we include 'nature prescriptions' in their work outside of the office appointment. These methods are especially helpful for those who love the outdoors, and for clients struggling with depression and anxiety issues.
College students are my favorite population to work with. It is a pivotal time self-discovery, life transitions and making sense of yourself and the world...it's a time of life worthy of additional support along the way! I am passionate about empowering you in the challenges you face, providing you tools to last a lifetime, helping you find purpose + meaning, and evolving into the greatest version of yourself. I fundamentally work to foster a healing relationship with you by creating a space of safety and unconditional acceptance in the hope you undertake a personal journey of growth. I not only help you fix what is wrong but build what is right. I observe the dignity and strength in each person regardless of who they are or their behaviors. Once trust is established, I will encourage you to take risks, and ultimately, to create necessary change. I entered this field to authentically listen to your unique story and to help you live in an integrated, healthy way. I find great meaning in walking alongside clients to challenge and encourage them in their road to emotional, mental, physical and spiritual healing. Call or email to schedule a free consultations to see if I’m the right fit for you! *Serving those anywhere in the state of Oregon via Telehealth*
If this is your first time looking for a therapist, or continuing your journey into self discovery finding someone to connect with may feel like a difficult task. I believe that the most important step in finding success in therapy is connecting with someone who understands you and can hear your perspective and respectfully challenge your thought process. Whether you are someone who comes to this setting thinking, “I don’t even know where to start,” or are coming with a list of tasks to begin working on, I would enjoy getting to know you As a previous director of a college counseling center I have experience working with teens, college age students, and young adults stepping out on their own and trying to discover who they are. Specifically working with LGBTQIA+ population on learning what their identity means in a new environment. As an adoptive parent and social worker I also have experience working with parents or teens who have had experience in foster care or adoption. My approach is person centered, and strength based. I have spent the last 15 years working in non-profit health centers and hospitals. I hold a Masters Degree in Social Work (2010), and licensed in MA and OR
My name is Kaci Schmitt (she/her). I am happy and honored to be able to offer counseling and therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults in Portland, Oregon, and Vancouver, Washington, as well as throughout the states of Oregon and Washington for teletherapy. I truly enjoy working with clients who are looking to process various experiences, transitions, and challenges in their lives, as well as gain knowledge, trust, and compassion for themselves and deepen their capacity for mental and emotional wellness. There are times in life where we can use an empathic, nonjudgmental therapist who can be present with us as we explore our challenges and develop insight. In addition to deeply listening to you, I will hold space for your stories, history, and cultural experiences, as well as encourage you to hold compassion and curiosity for your unique challenges. I specialize in working with teens and adults with anxiety, trauma, and grief and loss. Many of the clients I work with are highly sensitive persons (HSPs) and looking for ways to cultivate wellness in their lives. I also frequently work with people in the helping fields who are experiencing burnout and exhaustion, who are ready to explore ways to process vicarious and secondary trauma and prioritize true self-care. I truly love the work I do. I began my practice because I believe that we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and transform, and that we all have insight that we can develop and learn to trust. I also believe that working through our challenges with self-compassion and understanding can help us move from pain and frustration to peace and autonomy. We are all capable of creating meaningful lives of peace. I deeply believe that we all have an innate capacity to heal and that each person is their own best resource and source of wisdom, and that we often need a little help allowing ourselves to access and trust our intuition. We all have many possible selves, and the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, who others are, and how life works can help or hurt our chances at being the self we want to be. I also believe that there must be space in therapy to process the things about life that are hard, painful, exhausting, and often heartbreaking, all while cultivating a gentler, more compassionate, resilient way of being in this world. Therapy allows us the opportunity to develop self-awareness and explore action steps that we can take to improve our wellbeing. I respect the process it takes to discover new things about ourselves and integrate what we have learned into our lives, and I encourage my clients to do so with great care for themselves. I consider it a privilege to be a collaborative partner in the healing and transformation process.

Imagine yourself one day waking up without nightmares, enjoying life, feeling more fully present every moment, safe enough to explore friendships, romantic relationships, and to say “no.” I know that you have the potential to heal & build a better life for yourself because other survivors of trauma I have worked with & met have done so. I have worked with a large range of college students from all walks of life, and I enjoy working with this population. I find that my practice is most effective for those who are mostly ready to engage deeply with their own needs for growth and change. I work best with students who are expressive and willing to be open about the challenges they are facing. If you are someone who is ready to show up to work on the things that are most important to you, we will be a great match. Together, we will focus on finding your own solutions for living and ways to buff the resilience needed to navigate the unique pressures of campus life, academic stress, and personal transitions. To make support as accessible as possible for busy student schedules, I provide all services via a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. This allows you to engage in meaningful, private sessions from the comfort of your own space, whether you are between classes or at home. Ready to start? I invite you to reach out for an initial consultation to see how we can work together toward your goals.
