Hi, I’m Kiara, I’m the therapist behind Lunar Counseling! I work with teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, and trauma. Too many people are stuck in a cycle of distress without truly resolving anything. This leaves many feeling detached, numb, and uncertain about their future. I believe most mental health challenges can be addressed through effective therapy and by developing healthy coping skills. BUT, that can be so hard to do on your own. I have found for many individuals, having a therapist to talk through issues can be a gamechanger for their mental health. So, I use my seven years of therapy experience to guide people just like you as you work through your mental health challenges and regain control of your life. To get started, your next step is to schedule a 15-min phone consultation to see if we are a good fit. You don’t have to let things get worse or stay feeling numb and overwhelmed. I can help guide you as you overcome your challenges and get back to feeling like yourself again.

Hello! I'm so happy you stopped by! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I have 13 years of experience in the mental health field and I have also recently completed doctoral training in clinical psychology. I specialize in psychodynamic therapy and have a great deal of experience in working with people with eating disorders, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and concerns and personality concerns/disorders. I provide a non-judgmental and safe space for clients to open up about their struggles and painful experiences. I follow the client's lead as we work together to build an understanding of what is fueling their current difficulties. As we work together, client's develop a complex understanding of their lives and what has led to their current struggles. This opens up the possibility for new emotional and relationship experiences. My focus is on helping clients achieve long term and lasting change. Clients can expect to feel heard and accepted. With an environment of warmth, humor and curiosity, clients feel open to discuss their painful experiences and to open up emotionally in a way that they may not feel able to in most spaces in their lives. We will work together to build a deeper understanding of your experience, which will lead to long term and lasting change in emotions, work and relationships.

As a licensed psychologist, I can help you cope with depression, anxiety, life transitions, and trauma. I also specialize in working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, whether in exploring one’s identity, navigating coming out, considering or actively transitioning, relationship and sexual concerns, coping with queerphobia, or looking for connections. I do my best to be genuine, respectful, and honest with my clients so together, we can create a collaborative relationship that allows for vulnerability. I approach therapy from a relational-existential perspective, also drawing on feminist psychology and trauma-informed practice. In therapy with me, I will help you understand your relationship patterns and empower you to make autonomous, well thought-out decisions in your life, as well as get relief from your symptoms and generally cope better. Coming from a somatic and trauma-informed background means I deeply appreciate the ways our bodies carry the potential for healing within psychotherapy. As a queer transgender person, I am thankful to be able to give back to my community as an “out” therapist. I believe it is also important to take care of my own well-being, since I’m a person too! I do so by spending time with loved ones, exploring natural spaces, reading, baking, and gardening.

College can feel like a lot to carry. Classes, relationships, expectations, and trying to figure out what comes next. You might look like you’re handling things on the outside, but inside feel overwhelmed, stuck, exhausted, or unsure of yourself. You may notice the same patterns showing up in relationships or feel like you’re falling behind. You are not alone, this is a very common experience. Therapy is a place to sort through what’s going on and understand why things feel this way. With over 20 years of experience, I work with students navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, academic challenges and family and relationship challenges. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly, make sense of your experiences, and start to feel steadier and more confident. Together, we’ll work on building healthier boundaries, finding clarity, and helping you move forward in a way that feels right for you. If you’d like to connect, email is the best way to reach me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Six Ten Counseling is a group practice of 19 licensed therapists in Easton, PA — five minutes from Lafayette College and an easy drive from Lehigh, Moravian, and Northampton Community College. We work with college students and young adults navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, eating concerns, substance use, grief, relationship stress, and identity exploration, and our practice is LGBTQ+ affirming. We know reaching out is often the hardest part, so we've made starting simple: no referral needed, we respond within one business day, and instead of assigning whoever's next, we listen to what you're working through and match you with a counselor whose training and approach actually fit. If the fit isn't right, we'll transfer you to another counselor in our practice — no awkwardness. Sessions are available in person at our Easton office or by secure telehealth anywhere in Pennsylvania or New Jersey — which means care can continue uninterrupted over winter break, summer, or after graduation for students from either state. We're in-network with Aetna, Capital Blue Cross, Cigna, Geisinger, Highmark, Horizon BCBS, Optum, Anthem, and UnitedHealthcare, including most student and parent plans, and we're happy to verify coverage before a first session. Our counselors hold advanced certifications in EMDR for trauma, perinatal mental health, addiction counseling, and trauma-focused care. Currently accepting new clients.

My practice is grounded in a collaborative, strengths-based approach designed to help you shift your mindset and tap into the unique skills already within you. I strive to create an open, safe, and relaxed space where you can freely share your story exactly as you are. Therapy isn't about rewriting who you are; it's about changing how you relate to your thoughts by identifying the underlying beliefs that might be holding you back and gently reframing them. If you are feeling anxious about your first session, you are not alone. Our initial time together is a collaborative, low-pressure introduction. We will focus on building rapport and getting to know one another at a pace that feels right for you. We'll slowly dive into what you want to get out of therapy, outline your goals, and explore how the process works. Think of this session as a comfortable space to address any questions or concerns you have as we begin this journey together.

I believe the relationship between client and therapist is what is most important in the therapeutic process. Feeling safe and comfortable is what will allow you to challenge yourself to be vulnerable. Building trust together is what makes the works we will do transformative. My 19 years of work experience thus far has prepared me in various ways to be a support to others. Most recently, I have worked directly with the college student population at a local university. My efforts with college-age students have reminded me just how difficult the transition between high school and the world, between youth and adulthood, can be. Navigating those decisions, molding a new identity, and learning about responsibility: these challenges require empathy and encouragement. My focus is a time limited therapy—understanding the root of the issues occurring and offering tools and support to ultimately make myself obsolete. I work out of an emotion focused lens, offering EMDR to manage and treat those destructive, rooted themes that arise in one’s life. I believe in the work I do. I believe change is possible because I have seen it, and I have lived it. There is nothing more exciting for me than to witness another’s curative process. Congratulations on taking this step towards joy and serenity, towards a more conscious, self-assured way of living.

My clients are young women who are emotionally intelligent and highly self-aware; however, they still struggle with feelings of unworthiness and feel alone as they present to the world as "high-functioning." I help my clients make sense of the mismatch between what they “know” and what they feel and to move from surviving to thriving. My therapeutic style focuses on cultivating self-compassion and curiosity to offset the judgment we often use when relating to ourselves. A client of mine will hear me say, “All behavior makes sense, in context.” My aim is to be curious about your context to help you to see just how much you and your present experience makes sense.

I believe that therapy is a partnership. You and I will work together in helping you make progress achieving your goals. My purpose is to have you walk out of a session feeling better than when you first arrived. This is serious work, yet I believe as with all things in life, laughter should be a key component of therapy!! I stay cognizant of the fact that therapy is a time commitment, a financial commitment, and especially, an emotional commitment. If we work together, please know that I am just as committed to you, and to the therapeutic process of healing.

I specialize in working with late teens (16+) and adults navigating the transition into independence, identity, and adulthood. This stage of life can feel overwhelming—whether you're managing anxiety, adjusting to college or post-grad life, struggling with relationships, or feeling stuck in uncertainty about your next steps. Many of my clients are high-functioning but internally overwhelmed—balancing expectations, pressure, and major life changes while trying to figure out who they are and what they want. I provide a supportive space to slow things down, build insight, and develop practical tools to aid you in your journey. I strongly believe that we must take time to nurture our emotional and mental well being just as we do with our physical being.
