Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
Warm greetings! I am a LCSW and earned my Masters degree at Augsburg College of MN. I have been providing individual and group therapy for over 5 years in a variety of settings which includes; psych-hospitals, Medical hospitals, crisis residential, and currently a private prison. I offer a free 20 minutes phone consultation through my private practice at My Recovery LLC. I have a great deal of experience working with individuals dealing with severe mental illness, substance use, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, trauma, adjustment disorders, as well as grief/loss. I offer several therapeutic modalities to help clients achieve their goals. Services are provided in your home via a secure tele-health platform as well as in person. It would be of great pleasure to work with you in a therapeutic alliance. My role as a therapist is one of which I truly enjoy and take with great pride. Your recovery journey is of high importance to me.
My specialty is treating individuals with ADHD, anxiety, perfectionism, mild depression, stress, decisions about college majors, transitions, medical diagnoses (e.g., cancer, diabetes, struggles with weight, infertility, pregnancy loss). I use an integrated approach, but mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). My theoretical orientation is based on the Biopsychosocial model. A little bit about me: I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and I've been working in health care (mostly primary care) for about 9 years. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family & dogs and you'll typically find me hiking or somewhere outdoors.
We all want to be loved and experience pleasure, but getting there can be difficult in the culture of perfectionism we live in. This perfectionism shows up everywhere and results in thinking you need to look like a model in order to get a partner, trying to be good at everything, and goal-oriented sex that is more focused on performance than pleasure. Instead of feeling sexy, people feel stressed, lonely, inadequate, and guilty. I work with people who want to feel confident and sexy, have a healthy relationship/s with someone/s who is there for them, be able to communicate clearly, stand up for themselves, and have mind-blowing sex. I’ve worked in sexuality for 10 years, helping college students whose sex life is struggling. I help people of all genders & sexualities have less fear & anxiety, more confidence, stronger relationships, and better sex. My clients get good at connecting with themselves & their partners, moving past toxic patterns, & having open conversations. You’re not broken, even if it feels like it. I know what it’s like to feel lost when it comes to sex and relationships, not have healthy role models, feel like you have to figure it all out yourself, be judged unfairly, and be so focused on performance and being perfect that you miss out on pleasure. But all that can change. You deserve love--and hot sex.

As humans, we are subjected to the many ups, and downs life throws at us. One of my favorite quotes that I use as a core principle to help clients is, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Meaning we can choose, and we have to power to regain a rich, full, meaningful life. If you are ready to break old patterns, live a life in the direction of your values, and accept all parts of yourself, then you are already on your path of personal growth. My goal is to walk alongside you through this journey and provide support and empowerment to live a heart-driven, meaningful life. I use a variety of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). I can help you identify and build a value-driven life, help with troubling thoughts and feelings, and utilize mindfulness, to help you connect your mind and body as coping skills to better serve you.

We are a group practice that focuses on helping people feel better in their relationships. Appointments are offered in-person at our Denver office or through Telehealth. We recognize, as a young adult, you might be feeling depressed, anxious, or stressed with all of the things you have to manage while trying to feel good about yourself in relationships. Establishing yourself as an individual in this world, separate from the places and the people you grew up with, can be hard. You can bring a lot of stuff with you. You might have the time and space to think about the hard stuff or to finally put a name to the stress and pressure you've been feeling. You want to make people happy, but you have to figure out how to feel happy yourself first. We understand this transition time in your life and how you are trying so hard to have healthy relationships, to be less worried or stressed, to feel successful, and to find happiness. Call today to hear how we can help.
With over 7 years of clinical experience, I specialize in providing evidence-based care to individuals navigating depression, anxiety-related disorders, trauma, and mood disorders. "I am falling apart on the inside. "This world wasn't built for me." "I am always overwhelmed all the time." "My best never feels good enough." If these thoughts have crossed your mind, I promise you aren’t alone. I hear you, and I want to help. I believe therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum — our lives are shaped by systems, cultures, and histories that can both support and harm us. In our work together, we’ll look not only at your personal experiences but also at the broader context you live in. My goal is to honor your identity, acknowledge the impact of oppression and marginalization, and create a space where all parts of you feel seen and valued. I draw from person-centered, narrative, existential, and ACT, IFS-informed parts work, and emotionally focused therapy (EFT) approaches, always centering you as the expert in your own life. Together, we’ll explore your story, build on your strengths, and work toward the changes that feel most meaningful to you.

We offer affirming psychotherapy and sex therapy for individuals, couples, multiple-partner relationships, and poly and leather families. We are experts in alternative sexualities, specializing in working with adults in the kink/BDSM, polyamorous/non-monogamous, trans/gender-nonconforming/non-binary, LGBQIA+, and sex work communities. We work with those who live openly and out; and those who have more conservative and private lifestyles. We use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including holistic, person-centered, collaborative, empowerment-focused, trauma-informed, IFS, DBT, and EMDR. We welcome people of every ability, age, gender, national origin, race/ethnicity, religious affiliation, and sexual orientation, and we cultivate space for conversations that de/reconstruct whiteness, and cultivate positive racial and intersectional identities. People seek therapy for many reasons, including: a deeper understanding of identity or sexuality; difficulty adjusting to relationship difficulties or traumatic experiences; anxiety and/or depression; sexual functioning issues; compulsive thoughts or behavior; and/or changes in relationship structure or power dynamic. Most people decide to work with my practice because of my specialized training and experience, or because they feel more comfortable speaking to a therapist with first-hand knowledge of alternative identities and lifestyles.
