Welcome to Papilio Wellness, LLC. My name is Kathryn but family and friends know me as Katie. My clients often hear me say that being a human is hard. There is no rule book on how to manage life, especially when it gets overwhelming. Sometimes we can navigate the rough waters on our own but other times, we could use some help. Therapy offers that support and guidance to help us process those times when we do feel stuck and overburdened with life. Please feel free to take a look at my website and reach out if you have any questions or if you would like to schedule an initial appointment.

Hi everyone, I’m Amy, and I’m really glad you’re here. My approach to therapy is about creating a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. I’m trained in EMDR and also like to bring in approaches such as mindfulness, walking sessions, breath work, and practical skill-building, depending on what feels most helpful for you. I also draw from DBT, which stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. In real life, that means learning concrete tools for things like calming yourself when emotions feel overwhelming, communicating more effectively in relationships, and finding ways to balance school, life, and stress. These skills are all about helping you feel more in control and supported in the day-to-day challenges you face. I’m also a mom, and I have deep respect and admiration for young adults — I really value the unique perspectives you bring to the world. My goal is to walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, discover your strengths, and build tools that support your growth both now and in the future.

I am a licensed psychologist based in Lafayette, Colorado, working primarily with adults. My clinical approach blends psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral theories, allowing me to tailor therapy to your specific needs. I believe that understanding our patterns is crucial to building a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and sustainable. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I am committed to the dignity of all individuals and strive to create a welcoming, safe, and confidential space. My style is relaxed, curious, and focused. I prioritize understanding more than just symptoms or diagnoses; I want to understand you. I encourage clients to be honest, take reasonable risks, and learn to trust themselves so they can move forward with courage and conviction. I bring over a decade of diverse experience to my practice. After earning my Doctor of Psychology degree from Rutgers University, I joined the faculty at Albany Medical College’s Department of Psychiatry. There, I supervised residents, lectured, and developed a model of psychotherapy integrating client-chosen music. I am currently licensed in Colorado, New York, and all PsyPact* states. Outside the office, I live in Erie with my wife, daughter, and our rescue pup, Maisie. You’ll usually find me riding my motorcycle, playing the cello, or trying everything in my power to make my 9-month-old giggle. A classically trained cellist in a "former life," I believe resolutely that music is medicine. I welcome inquiries and am happy to schedule a free consultation.

My services include individual therapy, EMDR, and care coordination, all drawing from evidence-based modalities tailored to the unpredictable nature of brain injury recovery. I support clients in processing grief, identity shifts, medical trauma, and the invisible burdens that come with conditions others can't see. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in trauma-informed care, crisis stabilization, and supportive interventions for individuals navigating mental health and substance use challenges. Whether you’re facing a moment of crisis or working through the longer road of recovery, I am here to walk alongside you. My work is rooted in crisis response, de-escalation, and community-based behavioral health care. I believe that everyone deserves compassionate, accessible support during life's most difficult moments, and am committed to being a steady, grounded presence when you need it most. My goal is to help you find stability, safety, and a clear path toward ongoing care. When we work together, you can expect a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel genuinely heard and supported. I draw on person-centered and strengths-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), to help you build insight, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. My style is collaborative and adaptive, meeting you where you are and tailoring care to your unique experiences, goals, and the pace that feels right for you. Above all, I am passionate about helping you access the support and stability you deserve. My path to becoming a therapist grew from a deep calling to support people through high-stress and vulnerable moments in their lives. That calling shaped not only the work I chose, but how I show up for it every day. Each experience along the way deepened my commitment to providing care that is both accessible and compassionate, particularly for those who need it most. In my practice now, I bring a grounded, empathetic presence to every session, and am honored to be a part of your journey toward healing. When I’m not working, I cherish time with the people who matter most to me, especially my daughter, family, and friends. I also enjoy getting outside, watching movies, and finding small, everyday moments to slow down and recharge. These moments of connection and rest are what keep me present and energized for the work I love.

Many folks who sit with me share the weight of being a human in a world that does not seem to honor, value, or support them. It can feel exhausting to continue carrying our wounded selves through a sea of ongoing oppression and late stage capitalism. All the while, we continue to feel the pain of our childhood wounding and challenges with relationship and connection. It can feel overwhelming and hopeless. How do we find our way in all of this? Sometimes when I sit with others, I imagine we are sitting at a table where you can lay out all the many wounds, fears, disappointments, losses, and challenges of being a human. Together, we can look at each challenge and honor it. We honor what it has to say, what teaching it has, what pain it carries. Somehow, in the process of holding this space, we often find the tightness of the pain loosens. In this process, we develop a greater capacity for holding and processing emotion, paving the way for a richer life. As we move forward, we often discover a greater capacity for joy, connection, fulfillment, and love! After all, this is another hallmark of being human, finding joy and love alongside the pain and challenge. If you're interested in sitting at the table with me, please reach out for a free consultation. I look forward to hearing from you!

A Stoa Therapy provider. For most families, finding a qualified speech-language pathologist means long waitlists, limited local options, and clinics that don't take their insurance. For adults navigating a voice disorder or recovering from a stroke, the barriers are just as real. We built Stoa Therapy to solve that. By delivering care over telehealth and working directly with insurance, we connect patients across Virginia, Colorado, Illinois, and Louisiana with SLPs who have specialized training in exactly what they need. The result is care that's easier to start, easier to sustain, and genuinely effective. Get matched, visit: https://stoa-therapy.com/

Although college can be a time of excitement and exploration, it can also feel extreme and bring up feelings that can be challenging to sort out on our own. Having the right support can make all the difference. At In Bloom Psychotherapy we are here to support you on this journey exactly as you are, helping you find the tools and resources to provide some relief and a better understanding of yourself. Among other issues, we specialize in working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, grief, relational issues, depression, college athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts. We incorporate body awareness and mindfulness into sessions because talk therapy alone may not be enough to shift old patterns and create new neural pathways in the brain. Some of our clinicians are trained in EMDR therapy and utilize approaches such as parts work, IFS, DBT, CBT, mindfulness and attachment theory. We know finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming and daunting. If something in this bio resonates with you, please reach out for a free twenty-minute phone consultation.
