When your mind won’t slow down, your heart feels heavy, or your story feels complicated, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I support clients working through anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship patterns. My style is gentle, direct, and a little playful; think compassion with a dash of humor. Together we’ll untangle what’s hurting, strengthen what’s working, and help you feel more like you. Therapy works best when you can show up as yourself. I integrate different tools and interventions to match your needs, whether you want deeper insight, practical coping skills, or both. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe. Healing can be hard, but it’s still worth it. If you’re curious about working together, contact me by phone or email, or text (970) 829-8780. I see clients in Boulder, Broomfield, and Lakewood.

I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals with autism, learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and ADHD. I take a neuropositive perspective, which means I want my clients to understand and embrace their neurodivergence while also building awareness of some of the aspects of their neurodivergence that can limit them at times (i.e. mental inflexibility). My approach is warm and empathetic, however I also believe in being direct with my clients and in challenging them to push themselves towards growth and resilience. I use a blend of modalities tailored to the needs of the individual. I like to use rating scales to better understand my clients' areas of strength and need. I believe in setting and resetting goals as therapy progresses. This means I like to remind my clients of our focus, evaluate progress and whether or not the goal still makes sense for them, and adjust accordingly. My hope is that you will better understand yourself and why you do what you do. My goal is that you will gain skills and perspective to be able to effectively cope with the challenges life brings.

Change is hard, and getting to know yourself is a process! Some of my clients are neurodivergent, and want support in adjusting to new surroundings and building new skills. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and with other mental health concerns. My background is in somatic, movement-based counseling. In sessions, we might spend time learning more about what your body is telling you, and working with it to find balance and relief. Sessions can also look like talking about life, using expressive art to explore your emotions, or practicing mindfulness skills.

“With adversity comes opportunity” from the I Ching- Or Book of Changes The decision to seek therapy can be due to times of stress or the desire to seek change. We know that change is not always a straight path. To take a “road less traveled” can be filled with a beautiful river that flows and leads to clarity or it be a be a river filled with large boulders that need to be traversed with help and support. Therapy can be a tool that facilitates resilience and transformation. My approach in therapy is to first engage in a process of discovery. As your therapist, we will work together to discover what events, situations, and relationships in your life or your past do not work for you now. It is really important to understand how your life works in order to set goals and create change. Most importantly, it is important to remember that change affects all the people in your life. I'm a Somatic Therapist in Longmont, CO, working with tech professionals and multicultural clients, in person and virtually across the state. I spent years as a computer programmer before becoming a therapist and know "always on" work culture from the inside. I also immigrated to the U.S. from Japan as a child. My sessions work with the body directly, through sensation, breath, and movement, alongside talk therapy. I'm also Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist and draw on years of Aikido and improvisational theater in my work. My clients include BIPOC, immigrant, and diaspora students balancing multiple cultures, students managing a health or medical diagnosis alongside school, and people early in a tech-track career already burned out.

I'm a clinical psychologist providing individual therapy for adults and adolescents. If you're here, then you're probably looking for a change. Life can be unpredictable, complicated, and demanding. Low self-esteem, unpleasant moods, challenging relationships, and academic/professional stressors can be difficult to navigate alone. Together we can determine what a change may look like for you and develop strategies for moving towards that change. I view therapy as a collaborative process -- a joint effort towards feeling more connected, satisfied, and adaptable. I work with professionals, students, artists, musicians, parents, and many other individuals.

In that moment, everything was right in your world and then well, life happened. Now you look back and have so many questions…What happened? Let me tell you, you are not alone! We’ve all been there in some season of life. But who says this can’t make us better! Every person comes to therapy with their own individual needs. Therefore, we adapt our interventions based on a comprehensive assessment of who you are and what you need. I am a licensed psychologist based in Lafayette, Colorado, working primarily with adults. My clinical approach blends psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral theories, allowing me to tailor therapy to your specific needs. I believe that understanding our patterns is crucial to building a life that feels meaningful, fulfilling, and sustainable. As an LGBTQ+ ally, I am committed to the dignity of all individuals and strive to create a welcoming, safe, and confidential space. My style is relaxed, curious, and focused. I prioritize understanding more than just symptoms or diagnoses; I want to understand you. I encourage clients to be honest, take reasonable risks, and learn to trust themselves so they can move forward with courage and conviction. I bring over a decade of diverse experience to my practice. After earning my Doctor of Psychology degree from Rutgers University, I joined the faculty at Albany Medical College’s Department of Psychiatry. There, I supervised residents, lectured, and developed a model of psychotherapy integrating client-chosen music. I am currently licensed in Colorado, New York, and all PsyPact* states. Outside the office, I live in Erie with my wife, daughter, and our rescue pup, Maisie. You’ll usually find me riding my motorcycle, playing the cello, or trying everything in my power to make my 9-month-old giggle. A classically trained cellist in a "former life," I believe resolutely that music is medicine. I welcome inquiries and am happy to schedule a free consultation.
