Psychological suffering exists on different levels and manifests in different ways, in psyche, body, interpersonally, socially, both consciously and unconsciously. Thankfully, there are many ways to address psychological struggle, ranging from working with symptoms that are consciously experienced to the exploration of underlying non-conscious dynamics, many of which originate during the early years of one's life and impact one's relationship with self and others. My work is social justice-informed and incorporates an understanding of how larger socio-political systems impact our lives. Facilitating empowerment is key in my work. I provide a safe space and relationship in which to listen deeply, to your thoughts, feelings, emotions, memories, fantasies, and bodily experience. By learning to listen in new ways, we expand our capacity to hold more, respond with greater flexibility, clarity and ease, develop presence and compassion, and become empowered to make positive changes. I have advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic psychotherapy, mindfulness and Internal Family Systems. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, and I specialize in a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, issues around individuation, existential questioning, embodiment difficulties, and relationship challenges.

I specialize in relationship trauma, particularly recovery from coercively controlling relationships and cultic group. My clients are often gentle souls, have been called "too sensitive" and can find this world hard to navigate. Sometimes sensitivity & thoughtfulness are treated like pathologies. As an Expressive Arts Therapist, my mission: is to empower clients through authentic self-expression, conversation and artistic modalities. Build your confidence and claim your life by embracing authentic identity and pursuing your true potential. I believe a combination of compassion and the arts provide a uniquely personal & powerful vehicle through which anyone can heal emotional, psychological, or cognitive suffering.
I am a psychotherapist with more than 20 years of clinical, teaching and research experience. I work with individuals experiencing an array of circumstances and challenges. One of my specialties is counseling people with a focus on those in high-risk professions (e.g., law enforcement, fire/rescue, EMS, military) and their loved ones. I also work with a broad range of individuals employed in other “helping professions” (e.g., medical and mental healthcare providers, veterinary medicine professionals, educators, prosecutors, clergy) whose careers may have been negatively impacted by job and/or personal circumstances. I work with many other types of clients. My easy-going manner and collaborative style help clients develop effective strategies to enable you to better cope with, or to resolve challenges and issues, which adversely affect well-being and quality of life; depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, addiction, grief/loss, trauma, medical problems etc. The blending of my academic training, life experiences, accumulated clinical skills, and my “ability to be real with clients” combine to put my clients at ease and guide them in successfully navigating life’s challenges.

My name is Haeden Peaslee (pronouns: they/them) and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. I am a white, non-binary, neurodivergent individual working and living in the unceded territory of the Pennacook communities with the Pawtucket Village and Wamesit Village. I provide a combination of talk, play, and art therapy to clients. I utilize a client centered and strengths based approach with a focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship and encouraging self compassion. I am always in the journey of decolonizing my therapy practice and finding ways to re-imagine my field and encourage colleagues to do so as well. During sessions I integrate beliefs in trauma informed care, anti-oppression work, neurodiversity, disability justice, health at every size (HAES), and gender affirming care among other areas of liberation work. My specialty is in supporting trans and nonbinary youth, young adults, and their families in both identity related areas as well as other mental health concerns. I also have extensive experience working with youth and young adults with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and autism.
We live in a high-paced world, pulling us in all directions, leading us to feel burnt out and disconnected from other people. You might have become tired of the nagging stress, the strong emotions, the complexity of navigating relationships, or the feeling that something is holding you back from reaching your full potential. Despite all of this, a part of you wants to feel better and move forward. After all, that is why you are taking this major step of seeking help at this moment in your life. In my practice, I construct a safe therapeutic space where you can slow down and breathe. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all formula to address your unique history, personality, and concerns. Therefore, I take a holistic and integrative approach. I consider your difficulties, strengths, where you came from, where you are now, and where you want to be. By working together with clients, I help them cultivate emotional intelligence, deepen honest self-reflection, and increase their motivation to change. Most of my clients aim to reduce stress, improve human connection, and live more meaningful lives. If you are ready to start your journey towards wellness, email me to set up a free no-obligation brief consultation.

Within that space, I use a warm, supportive, curious and empathic approach to guide our work as we look at current and past stressors that may be causing you to feel "stuck" in various aspects of your life. Together, we can work to identify your inner strengths and resources that will aid you in managing current stressors, work through past events, and move towards health and healing. Specializations include: PTSD/Complex PTSD, Anxiety/Stress, Dissociation, Attachment, Sexual Assault/Abuse, and relationship/adjustment challenges. I use an eclectic therapeutic approach that is geared towards meeting my clients' individual needs and is aimed at promoting growth, clarity, and overall well being. I have had training in the most advanced treatment of anxiety, stress and trauma including EMDR, Sensorimotor/body-based therapies, and attachment-based psychotherapies. I remain up-to-date with the most effective therapies to aid my clients in developing tools and skills to meet the challenges of everyday life. I understand that finding the right therapeutic fit is a process and appreciate the strength and courage it takes to reach out for support. I look forward to the opportunity to consult with you about your needs.
