Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
Therapy should be a place where you can fully be yourself, feel heard and supported. That is the type of atmosphere I try to create within sessions. With a person-centered approach we will work on the matters that are most important to you and find interventions that work in your life. Therapy can be hard and challenging, I will be by your side the entire way to provide support, validation and new approaches to help you handle the hard times. I am passionate about helping others find more laughter and joy from their life. People are often more resilient than they think and it is never too late to try and create a more fulfilling life. Prior to working in private practice I spent several years working for a community mental health. There I worked as an outpatient therapist. I worked with children, families and adults with issues such as depression, anxiety, family conflict, as well as financial stressors and life stressors. During my time there I also did significant amounts of work with people who have lived through trauma.
Working with college students is a true honor, and not one that I take lightly. I've helped a diverse range of college students while working on campus at Delta Community College, and helped them manage mental health concerns ranging from anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, relationship issues, and more. I love helping students discover their authentic selves in order to reach their goals. If this resonates with you, I'd love to talk to you. Are things hard right now and you feel like you are barely treading water, or not coping as you would like? Well, I am here to wade through it with you, and help you to adapt, heal, grow, and reclaim your life so you can thrive, not just survive. Typically, my clients are adults and career professionals that struggle with a variety of issues including anxiety, grief, relationship struggles, life stressors , personal growth and more. Most seek out therapy because either something big happened and it knocked them completely off balance, or a lot of little things have built up and their ability to cope and manage life has decreased. Sometimes both. They come to me feeling anxious, sad, overwhelmed, or on edge. They may not be sleeping well, may be having relationship or school difficulties or are dealing with some kind of loss or even struggling with their medical health or have a fear or phobia. There may be a history of abuse or trauma. Or, they may simply feel stuck, uninspired, or alone and just not where they want to be in life. Yet, no matter what happened or where my clients are in their journey, I am here to empower them and help them get back on track, or in some cases, start a new path, Simply, put, I am here to support you in the process of getting, and feeling, better. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and clinical supervisor with 15 years of experience I combine authentic, relatable, down-to-earth, and compassionate care with a focus on the whole self that puts you back in control of life. While you are doing the hard work, I am your guide, teacher, listening ear, coach and support. I will push you to do, and be, better, but also be your soft place to land. I focus first on building a therapeutic foundation of safety, trust, teamwork and connection, knowing that without a good fit, therapy doesn't work. We will work together to find the right techniques and approaches that fit you and your situation best. This gives you personalized, strength-based, and holistic care where you get to be heard and express yourself, learn about (and work through) your issues, develop new skills, and create healthier habits in order to achieve better life balance and wellness. So, when you are ready to take the next step, contact me to schedule your initial appointment. My office is your safe place to breathe, heal, and grow. So kick off your shoes, get comfortable, and let’s work together to get you back in control of your life and clean out the emotional clutter. I look forward to chatting with you soon.

***I am currently accepting new clients to begin therapy on or after 8/10/26*** I strive to create a warm, collaborative, & accountable space in the therapy room. I believe in showing up as authentically as possible so YOU can feel comfortable expressing & exploring your full self. I’ve worked for 7 years with college students, young & older adults who are navigating life’s next steps, whatever those may be. I particularly enjoy helping those who consider themselves overachievers or intellectualizers to slow down & release the stress & anxiety they’ve been carrying around for so long. With me, this often looks like exploring early life experiences that may still be impacting you today. I’ve worked primarily with queer-identified clients from various backgrounds & consider myself radically pro-transgender. Whether you want to explore identity, or you just need a safe place where you don’t need to teach someone about your identities, you can find that here. Please don’t hesitate to email me or call our office! I’m happy to schedule a free 15-minute consultation video or phone call. I do not utilize AI in any part of my treatment or documentation process. As a doctoral temporary limited licensed psychologist, I practice under the supervision of Dr. Julie Meredith Davis, a fully licensed psychologist.
