With over 8 years of experience, I use a strengths-based perspective and an eclectic approach to help my clients work through life’s hardest challenges: serious illness (chronic or terminal), grief and loss, anxiety, and depression.
I believe that everyone is unique and holds their own wisdom, and that is a good thing. We all have different walks of life that we can share with others and have others share with us. With this said, I believe in creating a mutual relationship of compassion and learning with clients. Therapy should be non-judgmental and understanding of others’ differences while appreciating and empowering one another. I understand that everyone’s experience is unique, and so I meet clients where they are at. I believe in providing an open mind and a comfortable place for clients to be themselves as we work together to meet their goals. As we create a therapeutic relationship, I will work to help end the cycle of negative feelings by providing the space to open up about the deeper parts of life that bring these emotions to the surface. I will utilize the tools I have to promote a new frame of mind and coping strategies that fit the client’s needs. Engaging in therapy can feel very vulnerable. Being open with someone new can be tough, but know that you are not alone. I’ll maintain the same openness that I want for my clients and make it a priority to keep a comfortable space so we can be present in the moment. Everyone deserves the space to be who they are, process their feelings, and work on what they need. My goal is to be the support system in this journey!

Greetings! My goal is to provide a safe, nurturing style of therapy. The most important predictor of success in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. My name is Jayla Caver, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my MSW from Wayne State Michigan. Devon Kardel is a current doctoral level clinical psychology student at the Michigan School of Psychology and obtained her Masters in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of Michigan – Dearborn. Devon also has a brain injury specialization and has worked with individuals who have experienced trauma and have traumatic brain injuries for seven years. She also has experience with couples and relationships, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress, and is familiar with a variety of stressors through her previous positions in hospitals and private practice. Through various types of therapeutic modalities, Devon uses her clinical health specialty to utilize the mind/body connection and help you heal in the most integrative way possible.
