Are you a resilient person who is struggling? Have you lived through a recent traumatic event or had a stressful childhood, and find yourself frequently stuck in self-destructive patterns and relationships? Is adjusting to college life causing you to feel anxious, depressed, or overwhelmed and just plain burnt out? Or have you experienced a sexual assault and don't know how to deal with it? Adjusting to college is a significant life transition and it's not always clear what to do next. Finding confidence in your own voice and abilities, and clarity about your own needs can be difficult when you've been through stressful experiences. I'm here to guide you back to yourself, offer you some coping skills, help you clarify your life direction and reach your goals. I specialize in working with professionals in the performing arts and other creative fields, as well as those who want to enter them. I also work frequently with people in the helping professions and social justice oriented fields. My approach is informed by my own life experience as a former professional dancer in the American Ballet Theatre, and by the study of meditation and yoga. I have been in the social work field since graduating from Hunter College School of Social work 2004. In addition to talk therapy, I use mindfulness techniques like meditation, guided visualizations, as well as attention to body sensations to help you identify and begin to move through where you get blocked. I am also trained in EMDR and utilize that technique to help people heal from trauma and other stressful experiences. **Will be out of office July 11-.**

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York City, providing therapy in both English and Spanish. I work one-on-one with folks navigating trauma, relationship challenges, maternal mental health, life transitions, and identity exploration. My approach focuses on slowing down to recognize the patterns in our lives—those that serve us and those that no longer do—so we can begin to move toward creating the life we want. I have experience supporting individuals impacted by domestic violence, gender-based violence, sexual abuse, immigration stressors, and LGBTQ+ issues, including gender identity. I take a collaborative, holistic approach to therapy, offering a safe, supportive space to slow down, reflect, and explore who you are and who you want to become. I believe our emotions offer meaningful insight. By understanding our patterns, we create space for healing, growth, and a more connected, authentic life. Life can be unpredictable and overwhelming, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. In therapy, we’ll explore ways to cope with challenges, reconnect with moments of joy, and find steadiness and strength in an ever-changing world. Together, we can safely explore how to thrive in a changing world.

Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York with over 15 years of clinical experience. I enjoy facilitating individual, couple, family, and group therapy, and my focus is on students, staff and faculty who continue to address chronic mental health symptoms. I work in a partnership with clients where they are the "driver" and I can support the various "routes" in getting to the "destination" - success is defined by the client. I use CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and Solution-focused therapy. I believe in a strength-based perspective to treatment because the client already knows what doesn't work. Pain can manifest in any and many forms. I am willing to sit with you and encourage you to understand that you possess the solution to your discomfort. Through my years of practice, I have many suggestions to share that have worked for others. I believe the shift of perspective is incredibly powerful in the storytelling of ourselves. I am motivated, flexible, and adaptive, and have been told "you have a lot of energy!" I look forward to welcoming you with a warm smile to a session where one's words are heard and validated. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or drained? Do you feel like no one understands what you have gone through/are going through? Or do you find that you keep your feelings and personal experiences to yourself so you’re not a burden to others? You are not alone. It is not uncommon to feel disconnected and lonely, especially in this day and age. My name is Patricia Sibiga and I am a graduate student at CUNY Hunter studying Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to work together to talk through feelings of dissatisfaction and having a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and heard. Being vulnerable about your feelings and experiences can feel really scary and hard to do, especially if you have experienced being shut down when trying to in the past. Holding onto difficult feelings on your own can start to feel like a weight on your shoulders that continues to get heavier without an end in sight. Starting therapy can help to release that weight and strengthen your resilience to life’s inevitable encounters. My ambition as a therapist-in-training is to create a space where you are able to discuss these feelings and experiences without feeling shut down and unheard. You deserve to have a space in your life to discuss these topics in a non-judgmental, uplifting environment! My practice is rooted in psychodynamic, CBT, and mindfulness based approaches with a sprinkle of somatic therapy. With these theoretical approaches, we can work together to learn how current and past experiences are impacting your day-to-day, to practice grounding and mindfulness, and discover healthy cognitive behaviors and coping skills that may help with psychological distress. Patricia Sibiga is a therapist-in-training at Sol Health. Sol Health is a digital health startup that offers $30 therapy to Gen Zs by connecting them with therapist-in-training accruing clinical hours.
