While I work with people across the life span, I generally do not see people under 16. I also work with people navigating the spectrum of pregnancy, adoption and traversing LGBTQIA parenthood. I have been practicing social work for 15 years and am licensed in NY and Florida. I am anti racist, trans affirmative, sex positive, sw positive, body positive + kink allied. I use a psychodynamic approach in my work with clients incorporating elements of intersectionality, mindfulness and harm reduction. Being a college student—while also navigating identity, familial expectations, social anxiety, academic pressures, substance use, sex, sexuality, and questions about the future—can be a lot. I get it. With personal experience in many of these areas and professional experience supporting youth and young adults through trauma, mental health challenges, and life transitions, I know how overwhelming this stage can feel. My name is Eric Almond, LMSW, and I’ve worked with youth in community programs, outpatient clinics, and campus-based support spaces. I also know what it's like to return to school after some time away, and the challenges that inevitably follow. Whether you're new to school, returning, or continuing later in life, I aim to create a space that feels grounding, warm, and affirming—one where you don’t have to have it all figured out to be taken seriously. You're allowed to show up just as you are, and we’ll work from there. I offer a free fifteen minute virtual consultation to see if we're a good fit. Hello! I'm Chelsea, a trauma-focused therapist working remotely with clients in New York and Nebraska. I draw from a dynamic personal and professional background to offer clients a radically nonjudgmental space where we can work together to resolve relationship struggles, self-limiting habits, and self-esteem issues. I love working with individuals, couples, and families who have a complex history, especially those hoping to resolve longstanding conflicts. Through therapy, individuals can develop new awareness and skills for regulating strong emotions and overcoming the challenges of life. We all experience some distress or discomfort that can prevent us from feeling content and enjoying all that life has to offer. We're often stuck in patterned behaviors, thoughts, feelings, and relationships that only increases our distress and prevents us from being able to move forward. I work collaboratively with people to better understand the patterns of behaviors, thoughts, or feelings that contribute to our distress and develop concrete skills to feel content and enjoy life. I provide person-centered and strength-based therapy tailored to the needs of the individual. I specialize in CBT, ACT, interpersonal therapy, trauma informed methods, and motivational interviewing. I work well with people experiencing anxiety or depression, struggling with transitions in life, or have experienced trauma. I create a nurturing and supportive environment for you to express yourself to be able to create a balanced and fulfilling life. I believe that everyone has the capacity to change. Saturday appointments available.
My practice specializes in Millennial and Gen Z clients, especially college/grad students and young professionals. I help them to find their balance in this chaotic world, so that they can finally enjoy all they’re doing and working for—instead of letting anxiety, stress, and insecurities call the shots. My clients may be driven or thoughtful, and from the outside, it may look like they are doing OK. But on the inside, they feel defective and alone, like everyone else must know some secret to life that they don't. If you're feeling that way, I get how painful and exhausting it can be. I'd love to help you get to a better place. Most of my clients come in for help with anxiety, depression, traumatic or upsetting memories, or just feeling overwhelmed. For some there's a sense of being in "quarter life crisis." They're needing support navigating school, work, relationships, self-esteem, or the transition to college or postgrad life. I also specialize in working with neurodivergent folks (ADHD, autism, and others), unconventional thinkers, and deep feelers. I affirm and embrace what makes each client unique. My active, personalized approach draws from CBT, ACT, EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we’re a good fit. Reach out anytime. I’d love to connect!
Hello, I’m Jordan. I’m a licensed psychoanalyst and relationship coach specializing in somatic therapy and couples therapy. I work with both individuals and couples in NYC and throughout the world. We will collaborate to identify the dilemmas you are facing, and co-create a process of growth to help you take the next step towards healing and greater life satisfaction and fulfillment. Therapy is for everyone. No matter what your challenges are, you don’t have to do it alone.
Clients who come to me have expressed feeling a change in their mood, such as feeling more irritable, more anxious than usual or that they just don't feel like themselves and aren't enjoying things that they once used to. I will provide you with a non-judgmental and accepting environment where you can feel comfortable talking openly about difficult emotions and topics. Since each person is a unique individual with his or her own experiences, I use a holistic approach to therapy that’s unique to who you are and what you will need to support your well-being. In therapy we will explore connections between your past and present experiences so you can gain a deeper sense of awareness about yourself, identify problems so you can get to the bottom of why you are feeling the way you area and learn coping skills so you can better manage symptoms and find relief in challenging moments. Mental health concerns that I specialize in but are not limited to include: anxiety, depression and trauma, as well as family dynamics, life transitions, career-related stress and self-esteem. We’re told all sorts of misinformed messages that downplay the importance of mental health, so it’s no surprise if you are hesitant or nervous about the idea of therapy but remember that you are entitled to get help, no matter what you are going through.

I practice online, utilizing HIPAA compliant videoconferencing software. My clients are people seeking help with depression, anxiety, family conflict, relationship issues and life transitions. My approach is collaborative and supportive, yet also challenging. Our task is to unpack the issues that are being brought up in our sessions and use them to facilitate growth and change. The relationship we develop is the most important thing to me.
Life as a student can be stressful, especially when you find yourself impacted by academic or administration complications, or struggles outside of school. As a therapist, I take a holistic approach in order to recognize all the complexities of who you are and your unique situation, and strive to provide a space where you feel supported and understood. Many of my clients identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQ (and found me because they wanted a therapist who shares their identity), although I have worked with students from all walks of life. I have a Masters of Social Work from CUNY Hunter and seven years of clinical experience with techniques such as psychodynamics, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT. These have helped me with students struggling with a variety of concerns - depression, self-esteem, family or relationship problems, and more. Let's talk together about what's been on your mind and explore how to support you on your journey. I look forward to hearing from you!

Rise to change your story is a mental health practice based in New York City which provides mental health services to individuals, couples and families struggling in their relationships with themselves, others and/or with money/spending. Rise to change your story emerged from our belief, that we make meaning of our life, victories and struggles through the stories we live out, the stories we internalize about ourselves and the ones we share when we interact with others. Our life stories emerge, are shaped (and also limited) by our social, cultural, familiar and interpersonal contexts. We all learn the standards by which we measure ourselves and each other through the stories we see and hear, and by the stories we tell each other. We believe that during difficult times in life, we tend to be more vulnerable and we have a sense of being stuck in stories that usually restrict the possibilities we perceive for a better life. There is nothing wrong with us for that. Sometimes we manage to figure things on our own but sometimes we don’t. It happens. We cannot possibly have all the solutions for all the challenges we encounter, and therapy is one way to figure things out in the context of a supportive environment where you can further explore different options that you may have not considered. Our work is based on helping people explore and experience some alternative story lines that may already exist in their lives or may have existed, but have been forgotten or overshadowed. In our practice our mission is to support you to rise and change your story. A story with themes and plots that are more satisfying, more fulfilling, more empowering and more aligned with what matters the most to you. We believe such stories are always there if we look for them. We believe TODAY IS THE DAY TO RISE AND CHANGE YOUR STORY.
Are you the go-to person at school, at home, and with friends? You might even feel resentful sometimes - you do so much for others, but you're not getting that same care back from them. And that only makes you feel "selfish" and more guilty! Helping people break free from overworking & resentment is my passion. Many of my clients are people who have partners, friends, or family members living with alcoholism/substance use disorders, mental health concerns, and chronic health issues. You don't have to handle this alone, and you can feel more empowered, connected, and at peace in your life. I offer both psychotherapy and career coaching for my clients. We have room to explore how your past experiences have shaped you, examine the systemic barriers you are facing, build on your strengths and skills, and focus on specific action steps you can take to make changes in your life now. My style is warm, interactive, and practical, focused on helping you gain self-compassion & confidence. If you'd like to talk more, please email me to schedule a free phone consultation. I'd love to hear from you!
