I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) offering collaborative, creative, and strengths-based therapy. Rooted in psychodynamic, relational, and trauma-informed approaches, I create a space where you can show up fully—curious, overwhelmed, messy, or hopeful—and be met with care and curiosity. I work with teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic illness, grief, and LGBTQ+ identity. As a queer and trans therapist, I know how powerful it is to be seen and affirmed without needing to explain yourself. I earned my MSW from the Smith College School for Social Work, a program rooted in psychodynamic and anti-oppressive practice. I currently offer virtual therapy in the state of New York. Please reach out if you would like to schedule a consultation and see if we may be a good fit to work together. I look forward to hearing from you.
My experience as a therapist includes working at the NYU Counseling Services for many years. I have a deep understanding of the challenges both undergraduate and graduate students face with the changes, separations and transitions involved in becoming independent adults. It is a time filled with excitement as well as stress and worries about the future. The internal and external pressures, expectations from family and demands of the academic world can feel overwhelming at times. For graduate and doctoral students, there are the stressors of completing programs, dissertations and the challenges of seeking employment. Students may also be struggling with feeling alone, isolated, anxious, depressed, dealing with body image self-esteem and sexuality issues as well as social pressures around alcohol and other substances. Therapy can help in navigating these challenges, offer insight and reduce stress. I am a compassionate, extensively trained and interactive therapist. Together, we can work to develop strategies, address negative patterns of thought and behaviors, manage stress and help you deal with relationships more effectively. I am also trained and certified in clinical hypnosis which can be very useful in managing the physical and psychological symptoms of stress and anxiety including phobias, GI issues such as IBS as well as reducing symptoms of depression while increasing self-confidence and success.
Have you experienced significant life changes recently and are having a hard time adjusting? Have you been feeling lost, lonely, isolated, anxious, or frustrated? Has serious illness entered your life or the life of a loved one, creating new challenges in adaptive coping and finding meaning in your life? Are you navigating profound grief and loss? I believe that by working together, we can identify and enhance your strengths while working on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build meaningful social connections. Each person is unique and deserves a care plan designed for them. For some people, a therapist is a sounding board and place to process through life experiences with someone who is non-biased, or maybe what you're seeking is encouragement, accountability, or assistance in assessing your lived experiences. While my approach is eclectic and strengths-based, it is informed by Acceptance and Commitment therapy, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing, and a mindfulness/ mind-body connection approach. I am a certified yoga teacher and am working toward a Yoga Therapy certification. I am comfortable bringing in elements of mind body connection, breathwork and meditation if that is something of interest to you. Together we will build your resiliency and empower you to experience your most authentic self. I look forward to hearing form you and embarking on this journey together!

College can feel exciting, but also stressful, overwhelming, and lonely at times. Many of the students I work with are balancing school, relationships, family expectations, and their own mental health. My approach is warm and supportive, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies to help you manage stress, build confidence, and feel more grounded. You don’t have to go through it alone.
The mind is a powerful tool, incredibly powerful. We can think positive thoughts, we can think realistic thoughts and we can think negative thoughts. Some thoughts are fleeting and others forgotten. Some thoughts are rooted in our early impression of the world around us. We are committed to providing support with negative thought patterns and emotional dysregulation, providing individuals with the tools, knowledge, and the resources to overcome these challenges. Our team is committed to helping individuals achieve mental wellness and emotional stability. We utilize a strength-based, cognitive behavioral and person centered approach when working with individuals to address negative thought patterns, emotional instability, anxiety and depression.

Hello! I have over 20 years of experience working as a counselor and social worker and enjoy working with people of all ages. I employ techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, tapping, and motivational interviewing to assist my clients. I have a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. I believe in meeting people where they are at, and empowering them to do the things that they want to do, not the things others tell them they should be doing. Many of my clients have told me that I am easy to talk to, a good listener, and nonjudgmental. My communication during therapy is truthful and real. My tone and demeanor will fit what you need - some people desire a soft and gentle tone, and some people want to get straight to the point. I believe that it is important to hear a person's story and understand what their goals are before beginning any treatment. In our first session, we will talk about why you came to counseling and what you hope to achieve while meeting with me. I'd like to hear from you if you think we might be a good fit. I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances, so you're only responsible for your co-pay!
I work best with individuals who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of themselves as they juggle school, relationships, and big life decisions. You might be dealing with stress, burnout, low mood, or feeling stuck in patterns that are hard to change. Some students I work with are figuring out identity, boundaries, or how to manage emotions in a healthier way. In our work, you don’t have to have everything figured out. Therapy is a space to be real, talk things through, and feel supported without judgment. Together, we’ll make sense of what’s going on and find practical, meaningful ways to help you feel more steady, confident, and in control.

Welcome to Tona Therapy, a New York-based, virtual clinic, where we believe in the transformative power of warmth and healing. The word "Tona" originates from the ancient Aztec language, Nahuatl, which represents the concept of warmth, not only in a physical sense but also as a symbol of emotional comfort and connection. At Tona Therapy, we aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment where individuals can find Transformation, Openness, New beginnings, and Acceptance. Our dedicated team of therapists provides personalized services to help you navigate life's challenges. We offer a confidential and safe space for exploring emotions, healing past traumas, and discovering new paths towards growth and fulfillment.
We assess each client's environment, family, biological factors, and experiences from childhood to the present day. We consider a strong therapeutic relationship to be the highest indicator of progress in therapy. Being able to be open with one another enhances the therapy process. Without a strong rapport between therapist and client, safety doesn't exist, and barriers to positive change exist. After gathering history and establishing rapport, we then tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs. We provide EMDR (trauma therapy) as well as regular talk psychotherapy.
