I am passionate and sincere about providing my clients the space and safety needed to feel understood and supported. I work with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, stressed, pulled in too many directions and are looking for a way to get “unstuck.” I can facilitate a journey of self discovery and help to evoke deeper self-acceptance and self-compassion. I work collaboratively to help clients create solutions and small changes that add up to larger transformation, insight, wisdom, healthier behaviors and greater well being. I provide care that is strengths-based, solutions-focused, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I employ a variety of approaches- unique to each client- while promoting healthy coping strategies, and evidence-based skills that support clients in times of crisis, loss, low self esteem, addiction, anxiety, and interpersonal stress. Being human is extremely difficult. The responsibilities of life can feel overwhelming. Sometimes we simply need to be heard in order to access our innate wisdom and capacity for growth. If you are looking for empathy, compassion, understanding, and want to create a strategy for healthy, lasting change... please reach out.
I work with driven achievers who find themselves feeling stuck with rumination, overthinking, unwanted and intrusive thoughts, or are overwhelmed with uncertainty. You may find yourself wanting to feel confident at work or school, in relationships, and in going about your daily tasks, but that doubt keeps you second guessing and avoiding. Together we will explore the challenges you are facing, utilize methods to recognize what keeps you stuck in the anxiety cycle, and learn how to respond to and face fears with self-compassion, and confidence. Building trust is central to the therapeutic relationship and I seek to meet individuals where they are in their process. I believe clients are the experts in their own lives and I use a style that is collaborative, goal-oriented, supportive, and nonjudgmental. I am trained in evidence-based practices for the treatment of OCD, anxiety, panic disorder and phobias, hair pulling and skin picking (BFRBs), and athlete mental health. I offer the space to cope with uncertainty, develop new skills, and make meaningful adjustments, and am licensed in IL, WI and FL.
My therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. I integrate methodologies and techniques of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral therapies to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding I work to create a safe and trusting environment for individuals to share their inner most thoughts and feelings. I will also meet each individual where they are in life and to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Through psychotherapy you will be able to create a balance in your life on a mental, emotional, physical and interpersonal level. Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the psychological roots of emotional suffering. Its hallmarks are self-reflection and self-examination, and the use of the relationship between therapist and patient as a window into problematic relationship patterns in the patient’s life. Its goal is not only to alleviate the most obvious symptoms but to help people lead healthier lives. I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from depression, anxiety and grief counseling to academic issues to family dynamics and beyond. An area of focus I have is working with women who have had unsuccessful/unhealthy or codependent relationships with men. I have assisted women in developing a healthier sense of themselves by developing a greater sense of their own identity and less of an identity defined by their relationships. Along with areas of healthy boundary setting, focusing on developing personal goals and positive cognitions regarding themselves, they have developed healthier and more fulfilling relationships with men and a more positive sense of themselves. I also work with individuals dealing with compulsive behavior of sex and/or pornography use. Together we work to find the underlying root causes of the behaviors and then to find healthier ways to cope and deal with those urges/desires in the present. The individual will also focus on developing a healthier sense of self along with healthier boundaries, emotional awareness of needs and a more appropriate style communicating needs and wants to others.

Therapist & A Couch is dedicated to creating space for healing. Welcome to my profile! As an existential-humanistic therapist, I believe that the search for meaning and purpose is central to our human experience. I approach therapy with a deep respect for each individual's unique journey and the complexity of their inner world. My practice is grounded in the belief that we all have the capacity for self-awareness, growth, and transformation, and that therapy can help us tap into that potential. I work collaboratively with my clients to create a safe and supportive space where they can explore their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. As an existential-humanistic therapist, I prioritize the exploration of the big questions in life: Who am I? What is my purpose? What gives my life meaning? Through this exploration, we can begin to gain insight into our deepest desires and fears, and develop a greater sense of authenticity and connection. I draw upon a range of therapeutic techniques, including mindfulness, experiential therapy, and the interpersonal process, to help clients deepen their self-awareness and increase their capacity for emotional expression. I also emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship, recognizing that the quality of the relationship between therapist and client is a key factor in successful therapy outcomes. If you're looking for a therapist who will meet you with empathy, curiosity, and an open heart, I invite you to reach out and start your journey towards greater self-understanding and fulfillment.

I started Influential Connections Counseling, after having worked 11 years with adults and families in the human service areas of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, relationship challenges, and various mental health diagnoses. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified social worker. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship. A relationship that relies on trust, connection, empathy, and mutual respect. It can take time to build the therapeutic relationship. I often describe therapy as a space to discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly. Life is challenging, ever changing, and beautiful. Whether life's changes are positive or negative, it influences our mental health, our relationships, and our physical bodies. The therapeutic process happens in session and in your daily life as you build self-awareness and enhance skills to obtain your goal(s).

We might talk through your experiences, use guided imagery, or practice connecting with your body. I work with college students and adults who are dealing with the pressure of academics, social dynamics, and the big transitions that come with this stage of life. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, or feeling disconnected from yourself, I’m here to help. Together, we can explore how to manage the demands of school, relationships, and future goals, while also addressing any underlying beliefs or past experiences that may be affecting you. What is your communication style? I focus on creating a comfortable, judgment-free environment built on trust and respect. Depending on what feels right for you, I can offer quiet reflection or take a more proactive, coaching-style approach. My goal is to adapt to your unique needs, making sure our time together feels collaborative and safe so you can explore your challenges at your own pace. How do you approach goal setting with clients? When we set goals, we’ll look at three main areas: what’s happening in your life right now, how past experiences or beliefs may be shaping your current behaviors, and what you want to achieve in the future. We’ll break things down into manageable steps, adjusting along the way as needed to help you move toward your goals, whether that’s feeling more confident, managing stress better, or making big life decisions. What should clients expect during a first session with you? In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other. You can share about your college experience, relationships, and what’s currently causing stress or frustration. I’ll listen closely, and together we’ll identify some initial goals to work on. By the end of the session, I hope you’ll feel heard and leave with a sense of hope and direction for what’s next. Tell us about your journey to becoming a therapist. I’ve always been sensitive to emotions and found art and creativity to be healing when I was younger. During college, I struggled with panic attacks, and that experience led me to discover the power of therapy and healing techniques. My journey inspired me to help others going through similar challenges. Now, I combine traditional therapy with mindfulness and energy healing, using what I’ve learned to help college students like you find balance, heal, and grow.
