I work with college students navigating life transitions, loss, and the question of who they are and what comes next, often carrying patterns, unspoken expectations, or a sense of self shaped by experiences they didn't choose. As a bilingual, native Spanish-speaking therapist, I understand how nuanced identity can be and how exhausting it is when that isn't fully seen or honored. My specialty is helping young adult clients reclaim a sense of self during stages of life where identity and agency are often overlooked. I believe in a body-first, present-focused approach to treat your symptoms, prioritizing stabilization while trusting that lasting change comes from a deeper understanding of our histories, relationships, internal worlds, and motivations.

Are you overwhelmed with feeling anxious or sad? Having trouble adjusting to recent changes in your life? You’re in the right place. I help college students and young adults dealing with anxiety, depression and life changes to feel more at peace, less worried, and more confident. Your experiences and story matter and I am here to listen. My job is to help you to help yourself. I will help you to explore your own strengths and struggles in a safe, nonjudgmental space. My goal is to be transparent, supportive, and informative while being culturally sensitive and LGBTIA+ affirming. I hold sessions Monday-Thursday, 9am-5pm. During the first several sessions, I will help you to identify your goals while reflecting on your personal strengths that have helped you to get you to today. I want you to remember that you have survived every day before this one and that you are resilient. We work towards your goals with a speed that is comfortable for you, checking in on your progress throughout. I incorporate aspects of mindfulness to help you to cope and to heal while providing psychoeducation to help you to better understand your emotions and to gain insight into your experiences. I often give ‘homework’ to help to build new coping skills and to improve communication styles. Everything we will work on will be together, so I will always be transparent and you will always have a voice.

Life can feel messy at times and different situations can leave us feel stressed, anxious and/ or even depressed. At times, these feelings and situations can make us feel stuck and not know what to do or how to even process what we feel- making us feel worse and hopeless. However, I've experienced that when we as people have a space that allows us to process our thoughts, feelings, and situations- we can achieve to feel lighter and even be more hopeful with what we are going through. As a clinical psychologist, I'm committed in helping others achieve their goals and help them maneuver the different challenges that life can bring. I specialize in helping individuals navigate different situations that contribute to symptoms of anxiety, depression, and/ or stress. Whether you are dealing with family or work conflict, parenting or caregiving challenges or experiencing life transitions- I'm here to help your nervous system return to a sense of safety and help you face these challenges. My therapeutic style is strengths-based and eclectic. This means that I integrate evidence based therapeutic practices and techniques that best align with your needs while helping you recognize and build upon your own strengths. That being said- I do encourage that when you feel ready, don't hesitate to contact me and start this healing process together!

As a clinician with a decade of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a doctorate in clinical psychology, I bring a thoughtful, integrative, and person-centered approach to therapy. My work is grounded in a humanistic theoretical orientation, and I approach each therapeutic relationship with warmth, respect, and curiosity. I strive to create a space where clients feel genuinely heard and supported in making sense of their experiences, in their own words. While I prioritize a person-centered lens, I also draw from evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and ACT, tailoring treatment to meet each client’s unique needs. I am deeply committed to multicultural awareness, equity, and advocacy in clinical practice. I have extensive experience working with individuals who are BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S, and first-gen. My approach is affirming, identity-conscious, and culturally responsive, with an emphasis on honoring the complexity and intersectionality of each client’s lived experience. In addition to English, I am fluent in Mandarin and Shanghainese, and I welcome clients who may benefit from therapy in their native language. It is an honor and a privilege to support individuals in navigating life transitions, identity development, and emotional well-being with care, openness, and collaboration. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Every client has unique stories and needs. I blend clinical expertise with a compassionate environment rooted in empathy, trust, and collaboration. I have extensive experience assisting clients in navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I don't believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Together, we will work to identify the issues and goals most important to you. To help you achieve meaningful growth, I tailor aspects of CBT, ACT, and DBT, including mindfulness and distress tolerance skills, to your unique situation. I believe the relationship between the client and therapist is critical for healing. I will work to encourage, support, and guide you as you make your own choices and lead your own progress. I invite you to reach out for a consultation to see if we are a good match for the goals you want to achieve.

I bring a non-judgmental approach to each session, and I meet clients where they are emotionally and spiritually. When working through the struggles adolescents and individuals may be experiencing, I use a supportive and holistic approach. In the course of our time together, we will process the impact of negative behaviors, and we will restore and set goals. Together we will work on growing your sense of self and meaning. While every therapeutic relationship has unique challenges, the common thread to all affirmative relationships is the presence of empathy, compassion, and sincere caring and understanding. "Have patience with all things, but first with yourself. Never confuse your mistakes with your value as a human being. You’re perfectly valuable, creative worthwhile person simply because you exist. And no amount of triumphs and tribulations can ever change that. Unconditional Self-Acceptance is the core of a peaceful mind.” St.Francis deSales

Are you finding it difficult to cope with your overthinking, negative feelings, and anxious thoughts? Do your negative feelings associate with your appearance, self-worth, or accomplishments? Does it sound like “I’m not good enough, I will never succeed, I’ll always be alone, I hate the way I look, No one cares about me”? Do your anxious thoughts manifest in difficulty sleeping, working, or socializing? Do you feel you need a place for someone to hear you, see you, and validate your experience? Would you like to acquire coping skills for anxiety regarding your relationships, your career, or communication? I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to help adults overcome negative self-talk, life transitions, relationship issues, and imposter syndrome and achieve an increased understanding of feelings, emotions, relationships, communication, and self-worth. I aim to create a collaborative environment within our therapy sessions because I believe you, as the client, have the ability to understand yourself and your concerns and you may just need some assistance in building the tools to manage and overcome them. Together, we will figure out how to build a relationship that will support you in the way that you need.

I work with students who need more or different support than they are able to access on-campus. You may be looking for long-term therapy or for a therapist who specializes in working with people like you. I am trained in several types of therapy (ACT, DBT, relational, multicultural-feminist) and apply them flexibly based on what you need. Students who work with me are often looking for longer-term therapy, where we address deeper issues in a safe relationship, at your own pace. Others are seeking individual therapy that makes room for activism and the big problems of our time. We may be a good fit for therapy together if you are coping with a difficult family, relationship trouble, recurrent mental health problems (e.g. BPD, PTSD, MDD, GAD), or a life transition (e.g. grief, divorce, pregnancy, moving, spiritual/religious crisis). I also have particular experience working with medical students. Finally, I am a climate-aware and social justice-focused therapist; this means your experience with collective problems like white supremacy and the climate crisis is a welcome, respected, and important part of therapy. I don't take insurance, but I offer sliding scale fees based on financial need. Please reach out to me for a 15-minute phone call to see what might be possible in our work together!
