I support individuals of all ages in managing mental health challenges, including anxiety/depression, trauma, grief, and mood disorders. My approach is tailored to each client's age, maturity, learning style, and interests, ensuring developmentally appropriate interventions. Teaching clients that overcoming cognitive, emotional, & behavioral challenges requires effort and perseverance. This perspective fosters resilience & personal growth, empowering clients to develop new skills for managing life's difficulties.
I specialize in working with adolescents, teenagers, college students, and young adults struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, and stress, specifically related to their relationships and school functioning. I help clients reflect, access their strengths, and challenge negative mindsets, guiding them to make choices aligned with their values. I look forward to connecting with you to help you grow into the best version of yourself!
Welcome! Growth begins with taking steps to gain a deeper understanding of oneself. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in the state of Tennessee with 5 years experience. Currently, I provide psychotherapy services via telehealth. My specialization includes working with children, adolescents and adults (ages 5+) experiencing challenges such as stress, grief, depression, and other mental health concerns. I am committed to creating a holistic, client-centered, and supportive environment to foster engagement and ensure a safe and nurturing space for growth and healing. Building a comfortable and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential, and I am committed to working collaboratively with you to develop a personalized plan that supports your goals and promotes meaningful progress. You are worthy of achieving the life you aspire to have! If you are ready to begin your steps toward personal growth, please feel free to contact me to schedule a complimentary 15-minute consultation call.
In addition to being a Licensed Professional Counselor, I am also a Registered Art Therapist. Trained under the broader umbrella of Expressive Arts Therapy, I believe in the power of creativity, play, exploration, and expression which offers healing, not solely through traditional talk therapy, but through other expressive means – dance, movement, poetry, painting, improv, and more. I am trained in EMDR, and I value the use of somatic (body) work to facilitate release of embedded trauma. Sometimes, even when we understand logically that we are free from danger, our body still holds a primal fear response. I am dedicated to creating a therapeutic safe space for anyone who wants to embark on a healing journey. To this end, I lean into a strength-based, client-centered, trauma-informed philosophy. Conversations, artmaking, and guided experientials are always presented as invitations as I practice active listening and an open and curious mindset towards what the client wants to explore, create, and share. In my non-profit job, I work as a sexual health educator, HIV tester, counselor, and advocate. I practice a curious, non-judgmental approach and do not shrink away from “taboo” topics. I engage with a wide spectrum of individuals and commit myself to justice and equality for everyone, paying special attention to those in marginalized groups. I offer a safe space for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, neurodivergent, people with disabilities, and those who may see the world through a different lens.

Clients who experience the most benefit while working me are those who seek therapy because they are feeling stuck, like they've been living out a script that keeps repeating itself, and who want to make progress moving forward. If you've noticed dynamics within your family or in your past that keep repeating in your relationships, at work, or as barriers to your goals, then my therapeutic approach may be a helpful intervention. If you live in East Tennessee, we have the option of taking our session's outdoors for nature-based therapy and animal-assisted therapy. And if you are in South Carolina, we can meet online and may even be able to incorporate the horses via video! However we meet, I look forward to exploring your past with you to make sense of the present, for the possibility of a better future.
I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner offering telehealth medication management appointments in Tennessee and Colorado! I absolutely love working with young adults! College can be a difficult transition and I look forward to helping you through it. Connection with my clients is very important to me. Even when working in a telehealth setting, I strive to develop a therapeutic alliance with all of my patients, as I think it is essential for good care. I am excited to work with you!
Hello! My name is Kate, and I've been a therapist for 15 years, and a virtual therapist for 3 years. I have a Masters in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I love working with people of all ages, and enjoy addressing a diverse array of issues that impair us from being our best selves. In addition to myself, I work with 4 co-therapists; 3 dogs and a cat! They occassionally make brief appearances during sessions to provide their insight. I generally approach therapy as an equal meeting of you, as the expert on yourself, and me, as someone who can give some qualified insight and ask good questions to guide you to your own answers. I tend to be warm and engaging, and I pull the most from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I also use certain tools from other modalities, as well. In our sessions, we will work together to target the areas in which you would like to grow, give you the tools you need in order to produce the desired growth, and tackle sticking points and struggles as you work on applying what we discuss in therapy. I generally will give "homework" between sessions to help you continue to think about and apply what we are working on in your daily life, but it's nothing intense, I promise! Most clients find the "homework" really helpful and even fun, sometimes.

We all enjoy the excitement of learning and living a fulfilled life. However, we often don’t take the time we need to take care of ourselves. For many people, this fast pace lifestyle leads to stress in different parts of our lives (careers, financial crises, children, spouses and parents) and can begin to spiral out of control and cause real stress. This can lead to anxiety, depression, addictions, anger and other painful challenges. Allan J. Katz will help you successfully understand and master the ways in which different aspects of your life interact and affect emotional health. From sex addiction counseling, stress management and couples therapy, you will discover new ways to reduce anxiety and depression, and improve the intimacy in your relationship.
